[Machine] A group came to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and said, "O Messenger of Allah, our companion complains. Should we kill him?". He remained silent for a while, then said, "If you wish, you may kill him, and if you wish, you may forgive him, meaning by throwing stones at him."  

البيهقي:١٩٥٥٢أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنبأ مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ قَالَ

جَاءَ نَفَرٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ صَاحِبًا لَنَا اشْتَكَى أَفَنَكْوِيهِ؟ قَالَ فَسَكَتَ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَاكْوُوهُ وَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَارْضِفُوهُ يَعْنِي بِالْحِجَارَةِ  

وَرَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ بِمَعْنَاهُ وَقَالَ فَارْضِفُوهُ بِالرَّضْفِ

[Machine] Some people came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Our companion has complained. Should we beat him or cast him out if you wish?" Then he remained silent for a while and said, "If you wish, beat him; and if you wish, forgive him."

أَنَّ نَاسًا أَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ صَاحِبَنَا اشْتَكَى أَفَنَكْوِيهِ؟ فَسَكَتَ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَاكْوُوهُ وَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَارْضِفُوهُ»
