A man from the tribe of Aslam came to the Prophet ﷺ and confessed that he had committed an illegal sexual intercourse. The Prophet ﷺ turned his face away from him till the man bore witness against himself four times. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Are you mad?" He said "No." He said, "Are you married?" He said, "Yes." Then the Prophet ﷺ ordered that he be stoned to death, and he was stoned to death at the Musalla. When the stones troubled him, he fled, but he was caught and was stoned till he died. The Prophet ﷺ spoke well of him and offered his funeral prayer.  

أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنْ أَسْلَمَ جَاءَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَاعْتَرَفَ بِالزِّنَا فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ حَتَّى شَهِدَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَبِكَ جُنُونٌ قَالَ لاَ قَالَ آحْصَنْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَرُجِمَ بِالْمُصَلَّى فَلَمَّا أَذْلَقَتْهُ الْحِجَارَةُ فَرَّ فَأُدْرِكَ فَرُجِمَ حَتَّى مَاتَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَيْرًا وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ لَمْ يَقُلْ يُونُسُ وَابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ  

A man of the tribe of Asalam came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and made confession of fornication. He (the prophet) turned away from him. When he testified against him four times, the Prophet ﷺ said: Are you mad? He said: No. he asked: Are you married? He replied: Yes. The Prophet ﷺ then commanded regarding him and he was stoned in the place of prayer. Then when the stones hurt him, he fled, but was overtaken and stoned to death. The Prophet ﷺ then spoke well of him and did not pray over him.  

أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنْ أَسْلَمَ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَاعْتَرَفَ بِالزِّنَا فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ اعْتَرَفَ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ حَتَّى شَهِدَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ أَرْبَعَ شَهَادَاتٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَبِكَ جُنُونٌ قَالَ لاَ قَالَ أَحْصَنْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَرُجِمَ فِي الْمُصَلَّى فَلَمَّا أَذْلَقَتْهُ الْحِجَارَةُ فَرَّ فَأُدْرِكَ فَرُجِمَ حَتَّى مَاتَ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَيْرًا وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ  

"A man from the tribe of Aslam came to the Prophet ﷺ and confessed adultery. He turned away from him, the he confessed (again). Then he turned away from him (again) until he had testified against himself four times. So the Prophet ﷺ said: "Are you insane?" He said:"No" He said: "Are you married?" He said: "Yes". So he gave the order and he was stoned at the Musalla. He ran when he was stuck by the stones, and he was caught and stoned until he died. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke well of him but he did not perform the (funeral) Salat for him.

a man from Aslam came to the Prophet and confessed to committing Zina, and he turned away from him. He admitted it again, and he turned away from him. He admitted it again, and he turned away from him. Then when he had testified against himself four times, the Prophet said: "Are your crazy?" He said: "No." He said: "Have you been marred?" he said: "Yes." So the Prophet ordered that he be stoned. When the stones struck him, he ran away, but they caught up with him and stoned him and he died. Then the Prophet spoke well of him but he did not pray for him. " عب عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِي، عَنْ أَبِى سَلَمَةَ بن عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَن، عَنْ جَابِرِ بنِ عَبْد الله: أن رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسَلَمَ جَاءَ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ فَاعْتَرَفَ بِالزِّنا فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ اعْتَرَفَ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، حَتَّى شَهِدَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ، فَقَالَ: النَّبِىُّ ﷺ : أَبِكَ جُنُونٌ؟ قَالَ: لاَ، قَالَ: أحْصَنْتَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَأَمَرَ بِه النَّبِىُّ ﷺ فَرُجِمَ بِالْمُصَلَّى، فَلَمَّا أَزْلَقَتْهُ (*) الْحِجَارَةُ فَرَّ فَأُدْرِكَ فَرُجِمَ حَتَّى مَاتَ، فَقَال لَهُ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ خَيْرًا وَلمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ مَعْمَر: فَأَخْبَرَنِى ابن طَاوُوس، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: لَمَّا أُخْبِرَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ فَرَّ قَالَ: فَهَلاَّ تَرَكْتُمُوهُ؟ أَوْ قَالَ: فَلَوْلاَ تَركْتُمُوهُ؟ ! قَالَ مَعْمَر: وَأَخْبَرنِى أيُوب، عَنْ حُمَيْد بنِ هِلاَل قَالَ: لَمَّا رَجَمَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ الأسْلَمِىَّ قَالَ: وَارُوا عَنِّى مِنْ عَوْرَاتِكُم مَا وَارَى الله عنِّى مِنْهَا، وَمَنْ أَصَابَ شَيْئًا مِنْهَا فَليَسْتَتِرْ، قَالَ مَعْمَر: وَأَخْبَرَنِى يَحْيىَ بنُ أَبِى كَثير، عَن عِكْرِمَة أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَمَاعِزٍ حِينَ اعْتَرفَ بِالزِّنا: أَقَبَّلتَ؟ أبَاشَرْتَ؟ ".
