[Machine] He testified that he saw ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf asking Bilāl about the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: “He would go out to relieve himself, then I would bring him water, and he would perform ablution and wipe over his turban and his leather socks.” Others said: (the narrator was) Tamīm ibn Murrah.  

البيهقي:١٣٦٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْأَسَدِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ ح قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَدْلُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ سَمِعَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ مَوْلَى بَنِي تَيْمِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ يَسْأَلُ بِلَالًا عَنْ وُضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ يَقْضِي حَاجَتَهُ فَآتِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ فَيَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَمْسَحُ عَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَمُوقَيْهِ وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ تَمِيمُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ

عَنْ وُضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ يَقْضِي حَاجَتَهُ فَآتِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ فَيَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَمْسَحُ عَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَمُوقَيْهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to relieve himself, and I would bring him water so he could perform ablution and wipe over the turban and the socks.

[Machine] Regarding the ablution of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , it was reported that he used to leave to attend to his needs, then he would come back with water, perform ablution, and wipe over his turban and shoes.

عَنْ وُضُوءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «كَانَ يَخْرُجُ يَقْضِي حَاجَتَهُ فَآتِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ فَيَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَمْسَحُ عَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَمُوقَيْهِ»  

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ فَإِنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَوْلَى بَنِي تَيْمٍ مَعْرُوفٌ بِالصِّحَّةِ وَالْقَبُولِ وَأَمَّا الشَّيْخَانِ فَإِنَّهُمَا لَمْ يُخَرِّجَا ذِكْرَ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْمُوقَيْنِ» صحيح
