Ziyad, or some other governor, sent Imran ibn Husayn to collect sadaqah (i.e. zakat). When he returned, he asked Imran: Where is the property? He replied: Did you send me to bring the property? We collected it from where we used to collect in the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we spent it where we used to spend during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.  

وَلِلْمَالِ أَرْسَلْتَنِي أَخَذْنَاهَا مِنْ حَيْثُ كُنَّا نَأْخُذُهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَوَضَعْنَاهَا حَيْثُ كُنَّا نَضَعُهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ  

“My father told me that 'Imran bin Hussain was appointed to collect the Sadaqah. When he came back, it was said to him: 'Where is the wealth?' He said: 'Was it for wealth that you sent me? We took it from where we used to take it at the time of the Messenger of Allah, and we distributed it where we used to distribute it.' ”  

وَلِلْمَالِ أَرْسَلْتَنِي أَخَذْنَاهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ كُنَّا نَأْخُذُهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَوَضَعْنَاهُ حَيْثُ كُنَّا نَضَعُهُ

«وَلِلْمَالِ أَرْسَلَتْنِي؟ أَخَذْنَاهَا كَمَا كُنَّا نَأْخُذُهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَوَضَعْنَاهَا فِي الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَضَعُهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»  

[Machine] Did you send me the money? We took it as we used to take it during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and we placed it as we used to place it.  

«أَلِلْمَالِ أَرْسَلْتُمُونِي؟ أَخَذْنَاهُ كَمَا كُنَّا نَأْخُذُهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَوَضَعْنَاهُ كَمَا كُنَّا نَضَعُهُ»
