7. Ṣalāh of Eclipse
[Machine] He offered six units of prayer in four prostrations, five units of prayer with two prostrations each, and two prostrations in one unit of prayer. Ash-Shafi'i said, "If this hadith is proven authentic to us from Ali, we would affirm it." As-Sheikh, may Allah have mercy on him, said that it is narrated from Ibn Abbas and is authentic.
[Machine] He prayed during an earthquake in Basra, and he prolonged the prostration (sujood), then he performed the bow (rukoo'), then he raised his head and prolonged the prostration (sujood), then he performed the bow (rukoo') again and raised his head, then he prolonged the prostration (sujood) again, then he performed the bow (rukoo') and then prostrated (sajdah), then he stood up for the second (rak'ah) and did the same. Thus, his prayer became six bowings (raka'at) and four prostrations (sujood). Qatadah said about his narration, "Such are the verses." Ibn Abbas said, "Such is the prayer of the verses."
