[Machine] The Messenger of Allah used to frequently supplicate, saying, "O Allah, the Turner of hearts, make my heart steadfast upon Your religion." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, do hearts really change?" He replied, "Yes, indeed. There is no person from the offspring of Adam except that their heart is between two of the fingers of Allah. If He wills, He keeps it firm, and if He wills, He deviates it. So, we ask Allah, our Lord, not to let our hearts deviate after He has guided us, and we ask Him to bestow upon us from His mercy, for He is the Bestower." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, can you teach me a supplication that I can make for myself?" He said, "Certainly, say, 'O Allah, Lord of Muhammad, forgive my sins and remove the anger from my heart and protect me from the misguidance of trials as long as You keep me alive.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to frequently say, "O Turner of hearts, keep my heart steadfast on your religion." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed hearts are prone to fluctuation." He replied, "Yes, every son of Adam that Allah has created has a heart between two fingers of the fingers of Allah, and He can turn it as He wishes. We ask Allah, our Lord, not to cause our hearts to deviate after He has guided us, and we ask Him to bestow upon us mercy from Him for He is the Bestower." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, teach me a supplication that I can make for myself." He said, "Say: 'O Allah, forgive my sins and remove the anger in my heart, and protect me from the misguidance of tribulations.'"
