that the Messenger of Allah became angry with Safiyyah bint Huyai for something, and Safiyyah said: "O 'Aishah, can you make the Messenger of Allah be pleased with me, and I will give you my day?" She said: "Yes." So she took a headcover of hers that was dyed with saffron and sprinkled it with water so that its fragrance would become stronger, then she sat beside the Messenger of Allah. The Prophet said: "O 'Aishah, go away, because it is not your day!" She said: "That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases." Then she told him about that matter and he was pleased with her. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1973)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَجَدَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ فِي شَيْءٍ فَقَالَتْ صَفِيَّةُ يَا عَائِشَةُ أَرْضِي عَنِّي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَكِ يَوْمِي فَقَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَأَخَذَتْ خِمَارًا لَهَا مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ فَرَشَّتْهُ بِالْمَاءِ لِيَفُوحَ رِيحُهُ فَقَعَدَتْ إِلَى جَنْبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَيْكِ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ يَوْمَكِ قَالَتْ ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَأَخْبَرَتْهُ بِالْأَمْرِ فَرَضِيَ عَنْهَا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ found Safiyyah bin Huyay sitting, and she said to me, "Do you want me to please the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for you and make your day?" I said, "Yes." So she took a dyed head cover with saffron, soaked it in water, and then wrapped it around her. 'Affan said, "Its scent was so fragrant." Then she entered upon him on her day, and sat beside him. He said to her, "O Aisha, is this your day?" I said, "Allah's favor is given to whoever He wills." Then I informed him of my situation. 'Affan said, "He was pleased with her."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , found Safiyah with something. Safiyah said to me, "Can you please the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , on my behalf, and you shall have my day?" So, I wore a veil that was dyed with saffron and sprinkled it with water. Then, I came and sat next to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and he said to me, "What is with you is not your day." So, I said, "That is the grace of Allah, He gives it to whom He wills." And I informed him of the news, and he was pleased with her.  

الطبراني:٢٠٦٥٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ سُمَيَّةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

"عَنْ عَائِشَةَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَجَدَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ [فَقَالَتْ]: يَا عَائِشَهُ هَلْ لَكِ أَنْ تُرْضِي رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ وَلَكِ يَوْمِي؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، فَأَخَذَتْ خِمَارًا لَهَا مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ فَمَسَّتْهُ بِالمَاءِ لَيَفُوَح رِيحُهَا، ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ فَقَعَدَتْ إِلَى جَنْبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: إِلَيْكِ يا عَائِشَةُ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ يَوْمَكِ، قَالَتْ: فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشاءُ وَأَخْبَرَتْهُ بِالأَمْرِ، فَرَضِي عَنْهَا".
