"While we were standing with the Messenger of Allah at 'Arafat, he said: 'O people, it is upon each family to offer a sacrifice (Udhiyah) and an 'Atirah each year." (One of the narrators) Muadh said: "Ibn 'Awn used to offer slaughter the 'Atirah, and I saw that with my own eyes during Rajab." (Daif)

بَيْنَا نَحْنُ وُقُوفٌ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِعَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أَضْحَاةً وَعَتِيرَةً قَالَ مُعَاذٌ كَانَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ يَعْتِرُ أَبْصَرَتْهُ عَيْنِي فِي رَجَبٍ

We were staying with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Arafat; he said: O people, every family must offer a sacrifice and an atirah. Do you know what the atirah is? It is what you call the Rajab sacrifice.

وَنَحْنُ وُقُوفٌ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِعَرَفَاتٍ قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أُضْحِيَةً وَعَتِيرَةً أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْعَتِيرَةُ هَذِهِ الَّتِي يَقُولُ النَّاسُ الرَّجَبِيَّةُ

"We were standing with the Prophet ﷺ at 'Arafat when I heard him say: 'O you people! For every household each year is Udhiyah (sacrifice) and 'Atirah. Do you know what an 'Atirah is ? It is that which you call Ar-Rajabiyyah.'"

كُنَّا وُقُوفًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أُضْحِيَةٌ وَعَتِيرَةٌ هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا الْعَتِيرَةُ هِيَ الَّتِي تُسَمُّونَهَا الرَّجَبِيَّةَ

“We were standing with the Prophet ﷺ at ‘Arafat and he said: ‘O people, each family, each year, must offer Udhiyah and ‘Atirah.’

كُنَّا وُقُوفًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِعَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أُضْحِيَّةً وَعَتِيرَةً أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْعَتِيرَةُ هِيَ الَّتِي يُسَمِّيهَا النَّاسُ الرَّجَبِيَّةَ

[Machine] "And we were with the Prophet ﷺ while he was standing at Arafat, and he said, 'O people, indeed, every household or every family must offer a sacrifice and take a full shower every year.' He ﷺ then asked, 'Do you know what is meant by "full shower"?' Ibn 'Awn replied, 'I do not know how they interpreted it.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'This is what people call Rajabiyah.'"

وَنَحْنُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ أَوْ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أَضْحَاةً وَعَتِيرَةً قَالَ تَدْرُونَ مَا الْعَتِيرَةُ؟ قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ فَلَا أَدْرِي مَا رَدُّوا قَالَ هَذِهِ الَّتِي يَقُولُ النَّاسُ الرَّجَبِيَّةُ

[Machine] We were standing with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, "O people, indeed, every household has a sacrifice and an 'Atirah in every year. Do you know what is 'Atirah? It is what people call Al-Rajabiyah."

كُنَّا وُقُوفًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ» عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أَضْحًى وَعَتِيرَةً أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْعَتِيرَةُ؟ هِيَ الَّتِي يُسَمِّيهَا النَّاسُ الرَّجَبِيَّةَ

[Machine] "During our standing at Arafah with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, 'Every year, every household must offer a sacrifice and give a ransom. Do you know what the ransom is?' I replied, 'I do not know how they respond to it.' He said, 'It is what the people call Rajabiyyah.'"
