When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went on expedition to Khaybar, or he said, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out, the people came upon a valley and raised their voices with the takbir: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, lā ilāha illā Allāh. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Take it easy on yourselves, for you are not calling upon one who is deaf or absent; you are calling upon One who is Hearing, Near, and He is with you."

I was behind the mount of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he heard me while I was saying, “There is no might and no power except with Allah.” He said to me: "O Abdullah b. Qays." I said, “Labbayk (at your service), Messenger of Allah.” He said: "Shall I not guide you to a phrase from a treasure among the treasures of Jannah?" I said, “Yes, Messenger of Allah; may my father and mother be ransomed for you.” He said:

lā ḥawla wa-lā quwwata illā bi-Allāh

(There is no might and no power except with Allah)

لَمَّا غَزَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ، أَوْ قَالَ: لَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ، أَشْرَفَ النَّاسُ عَلَى وَادٍ، فَرَفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ: اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ؛ إِنَّكُمْ لاَ تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلاَ غَائِبًا، إِنَّكُمْ تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا قَرِيبًا وَهْوَ مَعَكُمْ».

وَأَنَا خَلْفَ دَابَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، فَسَمِعَنِي وَأَنَا أَقُولُ: لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ، فَقَالَ لِي: «يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ». قُلْتُ: لَبَّيْكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: «أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قُلْتُ: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي، قَالَ:

«لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ».

We were in the company of the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and whenever we ascended a high place, we used to say Takbir (in a loud voice). The Prophet ﷺ said, "O people! Be kind to yourselves, for you are not calling upon a deaf or an absent one, but You are calling an All-Hearer, and an All-Seer." Then he came to me as I was reciting silently, "La haul a wala quwwata illa bil-lah." He said, "O ʿAbdullah bin Qais! Say: La haul a walaquwata illa bil-lah, for it is one of the treasures of Paradise." Or he said, "Shall I tell you a word which is one of the treasures of Paradise? It is: La haul a wala quwwata illa bil-lah."

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَكُنَّا إِذَا عَلَوْنَا كَبَّرْنَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ فَإِنَّكُمْ لاَ تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلاَ غَائِبًا وَلَكِنْ تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَىَّ وَأَنَا أَقُولُ فِي نَفْسِي لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ قُلْ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا كَنْزٌ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ أَوْ قَالَ أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ هِيَ كَنْزٌ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

The Prophet ﷺ took a mountain pass, or he said, a path between two hills. He said: When a man climbed up on it, he called out, raising his voice: “There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.” He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on his mule, and he said: “You are not calling upon one who is deaf or absent.” Then he said: “O Abu Musa, or O Abdullah, shall I not guide you to a phrase from the treasure of Jannah?” I said, “Yes.” He said:

lā ḥawla wa-lā quwwata illā bi-Allāh

(There is no power and no strength except through Allah)

أَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي عَقَبَةٍ، أَوْ قَالَ: فِي ثَنِيَّةٍ. قَالَ: فَلَمَّا عَلاَ عَلَيْهَا رَجُلٌ نَادَى، فَرَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ: لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ. قَالَ: وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ، قَالَ: «فَإِنَّكُمْ لاَ تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلاَ غَائِبًا»، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «يَا أَبَا مُوسَى، أَوْ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ، أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قُلْتُ: بَلَى. قَالَ:

«لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ».

While we were with Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a holy battle, we never went up a hill or reached its peak or went down a valley but raised our voices with Takbir. Messenger of Allah ﷺ came close to us and said, "O people! Don't exert yourselves, for you do not call a deaf or an absent one, but you call the All- Listener, the All-Seer." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "O ʿAbdullah bin Qais! Shall I teach you a sentence which is from the treasures of Paradise? ( It is): 'La haula wala quwata illa billah. (There is neither might nor power except with Allah).

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَجَعَلْنَا لاَ نَصْعَدُ شَرَفًا وَلاَ نَعْلُو شَرَفًا وَلاَ نَهْبِطُ فِي وَادٍ إِلاَّ رَفَعْنَا أَصْوَاتَنَا بِالتَّكْبِيرِ قَالَ فَدَنَا مِنَّا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ فَإِنَّكُمْ لاَ تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلاَ غَائِبًا إِنَّمَا تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَةً هِيَ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and whenever we ascended a high place, we used to say, "Allahu Akbar." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Don't trouble yourselves too much! You are not calling a deaf or an absent person, but you are calling One Who Hears, Sees, and is very near." Then he came to me while I was saying in my heart, "La hawla wala quwwatta illa billah (There is neither might nor power but with Allah)." He said, to me, "O ʿAbdullah bin Qais! Say, 'La hawla wala quwwata illa billah (There is neither might nor power but with Allah), for it is one of the treasures of Paradise." Or said, "Shall I tell you of it?"

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَكُنَّا إِذَا عَلَوْنَا كَبَّرْنَا فَقَالَ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ فَإِنَّكُمْ لاَ تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلاَ غَائِبًا تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا قَرِيبًا ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَىَّ وَأَنَا أَقُولُ فِي نَفْسِي لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ فَقَالَ لِي يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ قُلْ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا كَنْزٌ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ أَوْ قَالَ أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ بِهِ

We were along with Allah's Apostle ﷺ on a journey when the people began to pronounce "Allahu Akbar" in a loud voice. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O people, show mercy to yourselves for you are not calling One who is deaf or absent. Verily, you are calling One who is All-Hearing (and) Near to you and is with you. Abu Musa said that he had been behind him (the Prophet) and reciting: "There is neither might nor power but that of Allah." He (the Prophet), while addressing 'Abdullah b. Qais, said: Should I not direct you to a treasure from amongst the treasures of Paradise? I ('Abdullah b. Qais) said: Messenger of Allah, do it, of course. Thereupon he (the Prophet) said: Then recite: "There is no might and no power but that of Allah."

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَجْهَرُونَ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ لَيْسَ تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلاَ غَائِبًا إِنَّكُمْ تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا قَرِيبًا وَهُوَ مَعَكُمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا خَلْفَهُ وَأَنَا أَقُولُ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ فَقُلْتُ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُلْ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

Should I not direct you to the words from the treasures of Paradise, or he said: Like a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? I said: Of course, do that. Thereupon he said:" There is no might and no power but that of Allah."

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ أَوْ قَالَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ فَقُلْتُ بَلَى فَقَالَ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

Once we accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. When we reached near Medina, the people began to say aloud: "Allah is most great," and they raised their voice. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O people, you are not supplicating one who is deaf and absent, but you are supplicating One Who is nearer to you than the neck of your riding beast. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: AbuMusa, should I not point out to you one of the treasures of Paradise? I asked: What is that? He replied: "There is no might and there is no power except in Allah"

كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ كَبَّرَ النَّاسُ وَرَفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ لاَ تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلاَ غَائِبًا إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ أَعْنَاقِ رِكَابِكُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا أَبَا مُوسَى أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ فَقُلْتُ وَمَا هُوَ قَالَ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

“We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition. When we returned, we overlooked Al-Madinah, and the people were pronouncing the Takbīr, and they raised their voices with it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Verily, your Lord is not deaf nor absent, He is between you and between the heads of your mounts.’ Then he said: ‘O ʿAbdullah bin Qais, should I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise: Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no might or power except by Allah).’”

عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ؓ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَلَمَّا قَفَلْنَا أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ تَكْبِيرَةً وَرَفَعُوا بِهَا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبٍ هُوَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ رُءُوسِ رِحَالِكُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَنْزًا مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

"The Prophet (saas) heard me saying: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (there is no power and no strength except with Allah).' He said: 'O 'Abdullah bin Qais! Shall I not tell you of a word which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Say: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'"

سَمِعَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَقُولُ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ قَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ قُلْتُ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُلْ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

"The Messenger of Allah (saas) said to me: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'" (sahih)

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ قُلْتُ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

[AI] To me, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "O Abu Hurairah, shall I not guide you to a word from the treasures of Jannah?" I said, "Yes, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you." He said, "Say, 'There is no power or strength except with Allah'."

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فِدَاكَ أَبِيوَأُمِّي قَالَ تَقُولُ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] "O Messenger of Allah, shall I not guide you to a word from the treasures of Paradise, under the Throne? There is no power except with Allah."

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] To the Messenger of Allah, may peace and blessings be upon him, I asked, "Shall I not teach you a word from the treasures of Paradise?" He said, "Yes, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you." I said, "Tell me." He replied, "Say, 'There is no power or strength except with Allah.'"

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَةً مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي قَالَ قُلْ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Shall I not tell you about a treasure from the treasures of Paradise?" I said, "Yes, please." He said, "There is no power or might except from Allah." He said, "I think it is that Allah says, 'My servant has submitted and surrendered.'

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ قَالَ أَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ يَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ أَسْلَمَ عَبْدِي وَاسْتَسْلَمَ

"The Messenger of Allah (saas) said to me: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'" (sahih) (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3825)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ وَمَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Shall I guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Jannah (Paradise)?" Then he asked, "Do you know what is a treasure from the treasures of Jannah?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "It is 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah'." (There is no power or might except with Allah).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ أَوَ مَا تَدْرِي مَا كَنْزٌ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قُلْتُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a battle, and we would not ascend or descend a hill or valley without raising our voices with takbeer (saying Allahu Akbar). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached us and said, "O people, raise your voices upon yourselves, for you are not calling upon the deaf or the absent, rather you are calling upon the All-Hearing, All-Seeing. The one you are calling upon is closer to each one of you than the neck of his riding animal.” He ﷺ said, "O Abdullah ibn Qais, shall I not teach you a phrase from the treasures of Paradise? There is no power or strength except with Allah."

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَجَعَلْنَا لَا نَصْعَدُ شَرَفًا وَلَا نَعْلُو شَرَفًا وَلَا نَهْبِطُ فِي وَادٍ إِلَّا رَفَعْنَا أَصْوَاتَنَا بِالتَّكْبِيرِ قَالَ فَدَنَا مِنَّا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ؛ فَإِنَّكُمْ مَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا إِنَّمَا تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ عُنُقِ رَاحِلَتِهِ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَةً مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

"The Messenger of Allah (saas) said to me: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'" (sahih) (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3825)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَلْ تَدْرِي؟ أَوْ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] From Abu Musa, they were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and they raised their voices in supplication. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, you are not calling upon a deaf or absent [One]. Indeed, you are calling upon One who is near, hearing your supplication and responding." Then he said, "O Abdullah ibn Qais or O Abu Musa, shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Jannah (Paradise)? There is no power or strength except with Allah."

عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَرَفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ بِالدُّعَاءِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا إِنَّكُمْ تَدْعُونَ قَرِيبًا مُجِيبًا يَسْمَعُ دُعَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَجِيبُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَوْ يَا أَبَا مُوسَى أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] The people faced a difficult obstacle or valley, and whenever a man climbed it, he would call out "There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest," and the Prophet ﷺ was riding a camel displaying it to the horses, and he said, "O people, you are not calling upon one who is deaf or absent." Then he said, "O Abu Musa or O Abdullah ibn Qais, shall I guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Say: There is no power or strength except with Allah."

أَخَذَ الْقَوْمُ فِي عُقْبَةٍ أَوْ ثَنِيَّةٍ فَكُلَّمَا عَلَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهَا نَادَى لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ يَعْرِضُهَا فِي الْخَيْلِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أَبَا مُوسَى أَوْ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

"The Messenger of Allah (saas) said to me: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'" (sahih) (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3825)

كُنْتُ أَمْشِي خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise?" It is "There is no power or strength except with Allah."

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَلْ لَكَ فِي كَنْزٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "There is no power or strength except with Allah, from the treasures of Jannah (Paradise)."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you have a treasure from the treasures of Jannah?" I said, "Yes." He said, "There is no power or strength except with Allah."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَلْ لَكَ فِي كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Shall I not teach you, or shall I not guide you to a word from beneath the Throne, from the treasures of Paradise?' You say: 'There is no power or might except with Allah.' So Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, says: 'My slave has submitted and surrendered.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ أَوْ قَالَ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْعَرْشِ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ تَقُولُ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ ﷻ أَسْلَمَ عَبْدِي وَاسْتَسْلَمَ «»

[AI] The people reached a difficult pass or narrow valley. Whenever a man ascended it, he would say, "There is no deity except Allah and Allah is the Greatest," while the Prophet ﷺ would be riding a she-ass and raising it on the mountain. He then said, "O people! You are not calling upon a deaf or absent (deity). Then he said, "O Abu Musa or Abdullah ibn Qais! Shall I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? He said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "There is no power or might except with Allah."

أَخَذَ الْقَوْمُ فِي عَقَبَةٍ أَوْ ثَنِيَّةٍ فَكُلَّمَا عَلَاهَا رَجُلٌ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ يَعْرِضُهَا فِي الْجَبَلِ فَقَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا» ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا أَبَا مُوسَى أَوْ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ » قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ»

[AI] "I used to walk behind the Prophet ﷺ , and he said, 'O Abu Dharr, shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' So he said, 'There is no power or might except with Allah.'"

كُنْتُ أَمْشِي خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ » قُلْتُ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ»

[AI] He heard Abu Zaynab, the servant of Hazim Al-Ghifari, say: I heard Abu Dharr say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: "O Abu Dharr, shall I not teach you a treasure from the treasures of Paradise?" I said: Yes, by my father and mother. He said: "Say: There is no power or might except with Allah."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا زَيْنَبَ مَوْلَى حَازِمٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرًّ يَقُولُ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا ذَرًّ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي قَالَ «قُلْ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

"I passed by the Prophet (saas) and he said to me: 'O Hazim, say often: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (there is no power and no strength except with Allah)," for it is one of the treasures of Paradise.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3826)

مَرَرْتُ يَوْمًا فَدَعَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَقْبَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «أَكْثِرُوا مِنْ قَوْلِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ»

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to say, "Shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? It is to frequently say: 'There is no power or strength except with Allah'."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ تُكْثِرُونَ مِنْ قَوْلِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? There is no power or strength except by Allah."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ» قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? There is no power or strength except with Allah." Abu Nu'aym did not mention anything else.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ خَارِجَةَ

[AI] The Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , saw me at the door of the mosque and said, "Shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise?" I replied, "Yes, O Prophet of Allah." He said, "There is no power nor strength except with Allah."

أَدْرَكَنِي نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no power or strength except with Allah, it is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ كَنْزٌ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ»

[AI] Narrated Abu Musa: We were with the Prophet ﷺ in a jungle and the people started raising their voices withTakbir (saying: Allah-u-Akbar). The Prophet ﷺ said, "O people! Be merciful to yourselves (i.e. don't raise your voices), for you are not calling a deaf or an absent one but a Hearer, near and present." Then he pointed towards me said, "O Abdullah bin Qais! Shall I tell you a sentence from the treasures of Paradise?" I replied in the affirmative. He said, "La hawla wala quwwata illa billah (There is no power or strength except with Allah)."

عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَهَبَطْنَا فِي وَهْدَةٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَرَفَعَ النَّاسُ أَصْوَاتَهُمْ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَرْبِعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ؛ إِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمًّا وَلَا غَائِبًا إِنَّكُمْ تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا قَرِيبًا» فَقَالَ لِي وَكُنْتُ قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ «يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكُ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

While we were with Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a holy battle, we never went up a hill or reached its peak or went down a valley but raised our voices with Takbir. Messenger of Allah ﷺ came close to us and said, "O people! Don't exert yourselves, for you do not call a deaf or an absent one, but you call the All- Listener, the All-Seer." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "O ʿAbdullah bin Qais! Shall I teach you a sentence which is from the treasures of Paradise? ( It is): 'La haula wala quwata illa billah. (There is neither might nor power except with Allah). (Using translation from Bukhārī 6610)

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَجَعَلْنَا لَا نَصْعَدُ شَرَفًا وَلَا نَهْبِطُ وَادِيًا إِلَّا رَفَعْنَا أَصْوَاتَنَا بِالتَّكْبِيرِ قَالَ فَدَنَا مِنَّا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَرْبِعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ فَإِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمًّا وَلَا غَائِبًا إِنَّمَا تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ عُنُقِ رَاحِلَتِهِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَةٍ هِيَ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

[AI] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and the people approached a valley, so they began loudly proclaiming "Allahu Akbar" and "La ilaha illa Allah." Asim raised his voice, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "O people, lower your voices! Indeed, the one you are calling upon is not deaf; rather, He is Hearing and near. He is with you, He has returned it three times." Abu Musa said, "Allow me to say something as well." While I was behind him, I said, "There is no power or strength except with Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Abdullah ibn Qais, shall I guide you to a treasure from the treasures of paradise?" I said, "Yes, certainly, for the sake of my father and mother." He said, "There is no power or strength except with Allah."

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَشْرَفَ النَّاسُ عَلَى وَادٍ فَجَهَرُوا بِالتَّكْبِيرِ وَالتَّهْلِيلِ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَرَفَعَ عَاصِمٌ صَوْتَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدَعُونَ لَيْسَ بِأَصَمَّ إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ إِنَّهُ مَعَكُمْ أَعَادَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ» قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى فَسَمِعَنِي أَقُولُ وَأَنَا خَلْفَهُ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ قُلْتُ بَلَى فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

"The Messenger of Allah (saas) said to me: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'" (sahih) (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3825)

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ألَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no power or strength except by Allah is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ كَنْزٌ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ»

“We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition. When we returned, we overlooked Al-Madinah, and the people were pronouncing the Takbir, and they raised their voices with it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Verily, your Lord is not deaf nor absent, [and] He is between you and between the heads of your mounts.’ Then he said: ‘O ʿAbdullah bin Qais, should I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise: Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no might or power except by Allah).’” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3461)

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَلَمَّا قَفَلْنَا أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ تَكْبِيرَةً رَفَعُوا بِهَا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبَ فَهُوَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ رُءُوسِ رَوَاحِلِكُمْ» فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

[AI] While I was walking with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "O Abu Huraira, shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? There is no power or might except with Allah, and there is no refuge from Allah except with Him."

بَيْنَا أَنَا أَمْشِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ألَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ وَلَا مَنْجَى مِنَ اللهِ إِلَّا إِلَيْهِ

[AI] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and the people approached a valley, so they loudly proclaimed "Allahu Akbar" and "La ilaha illallah." Aasim raised his voice, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Make it four times upon yourselves, for the One you are calling upon is not deaf. Indeed, He hears and is near. He is with you." He repeated it three times. Abu Musa said, "Then he heard me saying it from behind him, 'There is no power or strength except with Allah.'" He said, "O Abdullah bin Qais, shall I guide you to a word from the treasures of Paradise?" I said, "Yes, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you." He said, "There is no power or strength except with Allah."

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَشْرَفَ النَّاسُ عَلَى وَادٍ فَجَهَرُوا بِالتَّكْبِيرِ وَالتَّهْلِيلِ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَرَفَعَ عَاصِمٌ صَوْتَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَرْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدَعُونَ لَيْسَ بِأَصَمَّ إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ إِنَّهُ مَعَكُمْ» أَعَادَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى فَسَمِعَنِي أَقُولُ وَأَنَا خَلْفَهُ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ قَالَ «يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

“We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition. When we returned, we overlooked Al-Madinah, and the people were pronouncing the Takbīr, and they raised their voices with it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Verily, your Lord is not deaf nor absent, He is between you and between the heads of your mounts.’ Then he said: ‘O ʿAbdullah bin Qais, should I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise: Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no might or power except by Allah).’” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3374)

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَلَمَّا أَقْفَلْنَا أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ تَكْبِيرَةً وَرَفَعُوا بِهَا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبٍ هُوَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ رَأْسِ رِحَالِكُمْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَنْزًا مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»

When Messenger of Allah ﷺ fought the battle of Khaibar, or when Messenger of Allah ﷺ went towards it, (whenever) the people, (passed over a high place overlooking a valley, they raised their voices saying, "Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar! None has the right to be worshipped except Allah." On that Allah's Apostle said (to them), "Lower your voices, for you are not calling a deaf or an absent one, but you are calling a Hearer Who is near and is with you." I was behind the riding animal of Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he heard me saying. "There Is neither might, nor power but with Allah," On that he said to me, "O ʿAbdullah bin Qais!" I said, "Labbaik. O Messenger of Allah ﷺ!" He said, "Shall I tell you a sentence which is one of the treasures of Paradise" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Let my father and mother be sacrificed for your sake." He said, "It is: There is neither might nor power but with Allah." (Using translation from Bukhārī 4205)
