[Machine] "Yes, you are a good people, if not for the fact that you preceded with the hijrah," she said. "You were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , carrying your man and teaching your ignorant, and we fled for our religion. I will not return until I mention this to the Prophet ﷺ ," she returned to him and said to him. The Prophet ﷺ said to her, "Rather, the hijrah is for you twice: your hijrah to Medina and your hijrah to Abyssinia."  

أحمد:١٩٥٢٤ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ لَمَّا قَدِمَتْ لَقِيَهَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فِي بَعْضِ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ آلْحَبَشِيَّةُ هِيَ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ

نِعْمَ الْقَوْمُ أَنْتُمْ لَوْلَا أَنَّكُمْ سَبَقْتُمْ بِالْهِجْرَةِ فَقَالَتْ هِيَ لِعُمَرَ كُنْتُمْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَحْمِلُ رَاجِلَكُمْ وَيُعَلِّمُ جَاهِلَكُمْ وَفَرَرْنَا بِدِينِنَا أَمَا إِنِّي لَا أَرْجِعُ حَتَّى أَذْكُرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَلْ لَكُمُ الْهِجْرَةُ مَرَّتَيْنِ هِجْرَتُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَهِجْرَتُكُمْ إِلَى الْحَبَشَةِ

[Machine] "Yes, indeed, you are a blessed people. If only you had preceded in emigrating, and we are better than you." She said, "You were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , teaching your ignorance and supporting your weak. We fled for the sake of our religion." So 'Umar said, "Do not end until you enter the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." She entered and mentioned what was said to her by 'Umar. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, you have migrated twice: your migration to Abyssinia and your migration to Al-Madinah."

نِعْمَ الْقَوْمُ أَنْتُمْ لَوْلَا أَنَّكُمْ سَبَقْتُمْ بِالْهِجْرَةِ وَنَحْنُ أَفْضَلُ مِنْكُمْ قَالَتْ كُنْتُمْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُعَلِّمُ جَاهِلَكُمْ وَيَحْمِلُ رَاجِلَكُمْ وَفَرَرْنَا بِدِينِنَا فَقَالَتْ لَا أَنْتَهِي حَتَّى أَدْخُلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَخَلَتْ فَذَكَرَتْ مَا قَالَ لَهَا عُمَرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَلْ لَكُمُ الْهِجْرَةُ مَرَّتَيْنِ هِجْرَتُكُمْإِلَى الْحَبَشَةِ وَهِجْرَتُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ

We were superior to you, as we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , carrying your burden and teaching your ignorant ones. So we fled for the sake of our religion. She said, 'I will not reconsider until I meet with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' So I entered upon him, and she said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I met with Umar and he said such and such.' He replied, 'Yes, you have two migrations. One is your migration to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) and the other is your migration to Medina.'"

"لَقِىَ عُمرُ بنُ الْخَطَّاب أَسْماءَ بِنْت عُمَيسٍ فَقَالَ: نِعْمَ القَومُ أَنْتُم لَوْلَا أَنَّنا سَبَقْناكُم بالْهِجْرَةِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِى ﷺ ، فَقَالَ: بلى لكُم الهِجْرةُ مَرَّتَين، هِجْرَةٌ إلىَ أَرْضِ الحَبَشَةِ، وَهِجْرَةُ المَدِينَةِ".
