“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what should I do with those sacrificial animals that become unfit?’ He said: ‘Slaughter them, dip its sandal in its blood, then place it on its side, and leave them for the people to eat.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3106)   

أحمد:١٨٩٤٣ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ نَاجِيَةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ قَالَ

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what should I do with the meat of a sick animal?" He said, "Slaughter it, then dip its sandals in its blood, and then separate between the people and the meat so that they eat it."

[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, what should I do with the defective gift?" So he ordered him to slaughter it and to discard its shoes in its blood, and to separate it between him and the people so that they may eat it.  

البيهقي:١٠٢٥٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ أنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ

قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِمَا عَطِبَ مِنَ الْهَدْيِ؟ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَنْحَرَهَا فَيَطْرَحَ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا وَيُخَلِّيَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَيَأْكُلُوهَا
