[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever finds a small amount, like a dirham, a rope, or something similar, he should announce it for three days. If no one claims it within that time, then he should announce it for six days."  

أحمد:١٧٥٦٦ – حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَعْلَى عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ حُكَيْمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهَا يَعْلَى قَالَ يَزِيدُ فِيمَا يَرْوِي يَعْلَى بْنُ مُرَّةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنِ الْتَقَطَ لُقَطَةً يَسِيرَةً دِرْهَمًا أَوْ حَبْلًا أَوْ شِبْهَ ذَلِكَ فَلْيُعَرِّفْهُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ فَإِنْ كَانَ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ فَلْيُعَرِّفْهُ سِتَّةَ أَيَّامٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever finds a small amount of an item, such as a rope, a dirham, or something similar, should announce it for three days. If it is more than that, then he should announce it for six days." 'Umar ibn 'Abdullah ibn Ya'laa claimed to have a unique case, which was doubted by Yahya ibn Ma'een and Jarir ibn 'Abd al-Hamid. Among the reasons for doubt was his consumption of alcohol.
