[AI] Aqil ibn Abi Talib got married and came out to us, and we said, "With harmony and sons." He said, "Stop. Do not say that, for the Prophet ﷺ forbade us from that," and he said, "Say: May Allah ﷻ bless you, and may He bless her for you."

أحمد:١٧٣٨ – حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، قَالَ

تَزَوَّجَ عَقِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا، فَقُلْنَا: بِالرِّفَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ. فَقَالَ: مَهْ، لَا تَقُولُوا ذَلِكَ؛ فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَدْ نَهَانَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ: «قُولُوا: بَارَكَ اللهُ فِيكَ، وَبَارَكَ لَكَ فِيهَا».
