[Machine] Muhammad, the Prophet ﷺ , was the most beloved person to me in the pre-Islamic period. When he received the divine revelation and migrated to Medina, Hakim ibn Hizam went out to Al-Madisem and found a necklace that was being sold for fifty dirhams. He bought it to give it as a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He presented it to him and intended to gift it to him, but the Prophet refused to accept it. Abdullah ibn Ubaid said, "I thought he refused it because he did not accept anything from the polytheists, but he accepted it as a purchase." So I gave it to him until he reached Medina and wore it. I saw him wearing it on the pulpit, and I never saw anything more beautiful than him wearing it that day. Then he gave it to Usamah ibn Zaid, and Hakim saw it on Usamah and said, "Usamah, are you wearing the necklace of Dhi Yazan?" Usamah replied, "Yes, for I am better than Dhi Yazan, and my father is better than his father, and my mother is better than his mother." Hakim said, "I then went to Makkah and marveled them with the words of Usamah."

[Machine] Muhammad ﷺ was the most beloved person to me among the people in the pre-Islamic era. When he was informed (of his prophethood) and he went to Madinah, a wise man witnessed the season while he was still a disbeliever. He found a robe of a person named Yazan being sold, so he bought it to give it as a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He presented it to him upon his arrival in Madinah, and he wanted to take its cost as a gift, but the Prophet ﷺ refused and said, "We do not accept anything from pagans, but if you wish, I will buy it from you at its price." So I gave it to him when he refused to take the gift, and I saw him wearing it on the pulpit. I did not see anything better than him that day. Then he gave it to Usamah ibn Zayd, and the wise man saw it on Usama, so he said, "O Usamah, are you wearing Yazan's robe?" Usamah replied, "Yes, by Allah, I am better than Yazan, and my father is better than his father." The wise man said, "I went to the people of Makkah and surprised them with what Usamah said."
