[Machine] "I used to tend to sheep for Uqbah ibn Abi Muayt. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr passed by me, and he asked, 'O boy, do you have any milk?' I replied, 'Yes, but I am entrusted.' He asked, 'Do you have any sheep that the ram has not mated with?' So I brought a sheep to him, and he gently touched its udder, and milk flowed from it. He milked it into a vessel and drank from it, and he gave some to Abu Bakr to drink. Then he said to the udder, 'Contract.' And it contracted. Then I approached him again and asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me something from this statement.' He touched my head and said, 'May Allah have mercy on you, for you are a quick learner and a teacher.'"

Ibn Masud took seventy surahs from the Prophet ﷺ

ahmad:3599ʿAffān > Ḥammād b. Salamah > ʿĀṣim

Then Abū Bakr came to him with a carved rock, so he collected water in it and Abū Bakr and I drank from it. Then I went to him afterwards and said, "Teach me from this Quran." He said, "Indeed, you are a young boy to be taught." I then took from him seventy surahs."

[Machine] Indeed, Allah looked into the hearts of His servants and found the heart of Muhammad ﷺ to be the best of hearts among His servants. So, He chose him for Himself and sent him with His message. Then, Allah looked into the hearts of His servants after the heart of Muhammad and found the hearts of his companions to be the best of hearts among His servants. So, He appointed them as ministers of His Prophet, fighting for His religion. Whatever the Muslims see as good, it is considered good in the sight of Allah, and whatever they see as bad, it is considered bad in the sight of Allah.

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘You may come across people who offer a prayer at the wrong time. If you meet them, then perform prayer in your houses at the time that you know, then pray with them and make that voluntary.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1255)

ahmad:3602Jarīr > Manṣūr > Ibrāhīm > ʿAlqamah > ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed a prayer, and I do not know if he increased or decreased in it. When he finished, he was asked, "O Messenger of Allah, did anything happen during the prayer?" He replied, "No, what is it?" They said, "You prayed such and such." He then bent his feet and prostrated for the two prostrations of forgetfulness. When he finished, he said, "Indeed, I am only a human being; I forget just as you all forget. But if anyone has doubts about their prayer, they should strive in performing the prayer. And when they finish, they should prostrate twice."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one should have samar (consume food) after the evening prayer, except for two types of people: those who are fasting or those who are traveling."

ahmad:3604Jarīr > Manṣūr > Abū Wāʾil > ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] "People, O Messenger of Allah, will our actions during the period of ignorance be held against us?" He said, "Whoever does good in Islam will not be held accountable for their actions before Islam. And whoever does evil, will be held accountable for their actions before Islam and after."

The Prophet of Allah [SAW] disliked ten things: Yellow dye, meaning Khaluq, changing gray hair, dragging one's Izar, wearing gold rings, playing with dice (Ki'ab), (a woman) showing her adornment to people to whom it is not permissible for her to show it, reciting Ruqyah, unless it is with Al-Mu'awidhat (Verses seeking refuge with Allah), hanging amulets, removing to ejaculate in other than the right place, and taking away the milk of an infant boy (by having intercourse with his mother)- but he did not say that this is Haram. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5088)

The Prophet ﷺ said to me, "Recite Qur'an to me." I said to him. "Shall I recite (it) to you while it has been revealed to you?" He said, "I like to hear it from another person." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5056)

[Machine] A man came to Abdullah from the tribe of Bajilah, his name was Nahiq bin Sinan. He said, "O Abu Abdullah, how do you recite this verse: 'From water gushing forth, that is unsalty and sweet' [Surah Muhammad 15]?" Abdullah replied, "Did you enumerate the entire Quran except for this one verse?" Nahiq said, "I recite the detailed (mu'fasal) Quran in one unit of prayer." Abdullah said, "Is it like this poetry? Indeed, the best prayer includes bowing and prostrating, and some people recite the Quran without even passing their throats. But when they recite it, it deeply penetrates their hearts and brings benefit. Indeed, I know the similar verses that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite two Surahs in one unit of prayer." He then stood up and entered. Alqamah entered upon him and we said to him, "Ask him about the similar verses that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite two Surahs in one unit of prayer." Alqamah asked him and then came out to us and said, "Twenty Surahs from the beginning of the Mu'fasal in the arrangement of Abdullah."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once made an oath and said, "A man from the Ansar commented, 'This oath was made with the intention of seeking the Face of Allah, the Almighty.' I said, 'O enemy of Allah, should I inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about what you have said?' He replied, 'Yes, tell him.' So I mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ and his face turned red. He then said, 'May the mercy of Allah be upon Musa, for he was harmed more than this and still showed patience.'"

‘Abd Allaah (bin Masud) said “I asked Apostle of Allaah ﷺ which sin is the gravest?” He replied “That you associate someone with Allaah, while He has created you”. I again asked “Which then?” He replied “That you commit adultery with the wife of your neighbor.” Allaah then revealed the following Qur’anic verse in support of the statement of the Prophet ﷺ “Those who invoke not with Allaah any other god nor slay such life as Allaah has made sacred except for just cause nor commit fornication.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2310)

I have left behind in the mosque a man who explains the Qur'an according to his personal discretion and he explained this verse:" So wait for the day when the Heaven brings a clear smoke." He says that a smoke would come to the people on the Day of Resurrection anl it will withhold breath and they would be inflicted with cold. 'Abdullah said: He who has knowledge should say something and he who has no knowledge should simply say: Allah is best aware. This reflects the understanding of a person that he should say about that which he does not know that it is Allah who knows best. The fact is that when the Quraish disobeyed Allah's Apostle ﷺ he supplicated Allah that they should be afflicted with famine and starvation as was done in case of Yusuf. And they were so much hard pressed that a person would ace the sky and he would see between him and the sky something like smoke and they were so much hard pressed that they began to cat the bones, and a person came to Allah's Apostle ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah. seek forgiveness for the tribe of Mudar for (its people) have been undone. The Messenger ﷺ said: For Mudar? You are overbold, but he supplicated Allah for them. It was upon this that this verse was revealed:" We shall remove the chastisement a little, but they will surely return to evil" (xliv. 15). lie (the narrator) said: There was a downpoor of rain upon them. When there was some relief for them they returned to the same position as they had been before, and Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed this verse:" So wait for the day when the heaven brings a clear smoke enveloping people. This is a grievous torment on the day when We seize them with the most violent seizing; surely, We shall exact retribution." And this (seizing) implied (Battle) of Badr. "I was hiding beneath the covering of the Ka'bah, and three men came along - a man from the Quraish, and two of his brothers-in-law from Thaqif, or a man from Thaqif and two of his brothers-in-law from Quraish. Their bellies were fat, and they did not have much understanding. They said something that I could not understand, then one of them said: 'Do you think that Allah can hear what we are talking about?' Another said: 'If we raise our voices, He will hear it, but if we do not raise our voices, He will not hear it.' The other one said: 'If He can hear something from us, then He can hear all of it.'" 'Abdullah said: "I mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, so Allah revealed: 'And you have not been hiding yourselves, lest your ears and your eyes and your skin should testify against you...' up to His saying: '...and you have become of those utterly lost! [Machine] "When Abdullah returned from a need, he would go to the door, clear his throat, and spit, disliking that anyone from us would approach something he disliked. She said, 'One day, he came and cleared his throat.' She said, 'I had an old woman who used to recite over me for hay fever. So, I brought her in and placed her under the bed. He entered and sat next to me and saw a string around my neck. He asked, 'What is this string?' She said, 'I said, It's a string that I use to recite with.' So, he took it and cut it, and then he said, 'Indeed, the family of Abdullah are rich enough to forgo using shirk practices. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Indeed, ruqyahs, talismans, and amulets are shirk.' She said, 'So, I asked him, 'Why do you say this while my eyes were being afflicted, and I used to go to so-and-so, a Jewish man, for him to recite over me, and when he did, I would recover?' He said, 'Indeed, that was the work of the Shaytan. He would touch her with his hand, but when you performed the ruqyah, he would remove his hand. It would be sufficient for you to say as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Remove the harm, O Lord of mankind, and heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing that leaves no sickness.'"

when we (prayed and) sat up during prayer along the Messenger of Allah (may peach be upon him), we said: “Peace be to Allah before it is supplicated for His servants; peace be to so and so. “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not say “Peace be to Allah ,”for Allah Himself is peace. When one of you sits(during the prayer), he should say: The adoration of the tongue are due to Allah, and acts of worship and all good things. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and Allah’s mercy and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon Allah’s upright servants. When you say that, it reaches every upright servant in heavens and earth or between heavens and earth. "Whoever would like to meet Allah tomorrow as a Muslim, let him regularly attend these five (daily) prayers whenever the call for them is given (that in the mosques), for Allah prescribed for His Prophet the ways of guidance, and they (the prayers) are part of those ways of guidance. I do not think that there is anyone among you who does not have a place where he prays in his house. But if you were to pray in your houses and forsake the Masjids, you would be forsaking the Sunnah of your Prophet, and if you were to forsake the Sunnah of your Prophet you would go astray. There is no Muslim slave who performs Wudu and does it well, then walks to the prayer, but Allah will record one Hasanah (good deed) for each step he takes, or raise' him one level by it or erase one sin from him. I remember how we used to take short steps, and I remember (a time) when no one stayed behind from the prayer except a hypocrite whose hypocrisy was well known. And I have seen a man coming Supported by two others until he would be made to stand in the row." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 849)

Verily your creation is on this wise. The constituents of one of you are collected for forty days in his mother's womb in the form of blood, after which it becomes a clot of blood in another period of forty days. Then it becomes a lump of flesh and forty days later Allah sends His angel to it with instructions concerning four things, so the angel writes down his livelihood, his death, his deeds, his fortune and misfortune. By Him, besides Whom there is no god, that one amongst you acts like the people deserving Paradise until between him and Paradise there remains but the distance of a cubit, when suddenly the writing of destiny overcomes him and he begins to act like the denizens of Hell and thus enters Hell, and another one acts in the way of the denizens of Hell, until there remains between him and Hell a distance of a cubit that the writing of destiny overcomes him and then he begins to act like the people of Paradise and enters Paradise. He said, "Know that there is none among you but that the wealth of his inheritor is dearer to him than his own wealth. Your wealth is only what you send forth, and the wealth of your inheritors is what you leave behind." The Prophet ﷺ also said, "What do you consider as the bravest among you?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, the one who is not afraid of the men." He said, "No, but the truly brave is the one who can control himself when he is angry." The Prophet ﷺ also said, "What do you consider as the most virtuous among you?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, the one who does not have any children." He said, "No, but the most virtuous is the one who does not withhold anything from his children."

Then it wanders away. So he goes to find it until he is on the brink of death. He says: 'I will return to the place where I lost it, to die.' [Machine] Abdullah, verily a believer sees his sins as if they were a mountain about to fall upon him, fearing it would crush him. And indeed, a transgressor sees his sins as tiny flies that landed on his nose, and he says: "Is this how it is?" So he waved them off. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah is more pleased with the repentance of one of you who goes out to a barren land and says: 'O Allah, I am returning to my place of deception in it, so let me die there.' He said, "Abu Mu'awiyah said, 'Abdullah narrated two narrations, one from himself and the other from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . It is about a person who takes his means of destruction with him on his camel, such as his provision, food, drink, and whatever he may need. But it misleads him, so he goes out in search of it until death overtakes him. Then he says, 'Let me return to the place where I went astray in it and die there.' So, he returns, and his eyes grow sleepy, but he wakes up to find his means of destruction beside him, along with his provision, food, drink, and whatever he may need."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم asked, "What do you say about these prisoners?" Abu Bakr said, "O Messenger of Allah, your people and your family are seeking their ransom and interceding for them, hoping that Allah may accept their repentance." Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah, they have expelled and rejected you. Bring them close and strike their necks." Abdullah ibn Rawaha said, "O Messenger of Allah, look, there is a valley filled with firewood, throw them into it and then set it on fire." Abbas said, "You have severed your ties of kinship, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم entered and did not respond to them. He said, "Some people take the opinion of Abu Bakr, some take the opinion of Umar, and some take the opinion of Abdullah ibn Rawaha." Then the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Verily, Allah softens the hearts of certain individuals until they become softer than milk, and He strengthens the hearts of others until they become harder than stone. And your example, O Abu Bakr, is like the example of Ibrahimﷺ who said, 'Whoever follows me is from me, and whoever disobeys me, indeed, You are Forgiving and Merciful.' And your example, O Abu Bakr, is like the example of 'Isa, who said, 'If You punish them, they are Your servants, and if You forgive them, indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.' And your example, O Umar, is like the example of Nuh, who said, 'My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant.' And your example, O Umar, is like the example of Musa, who said, 'My Lord, harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment.' You are a group, and none of them will escape except by redemption or by a severe blow to the neck." Abdullah said, "O Messenger of Allah, except for Suhail ibn Bayda, for I have heard him mentioning Islam." He said, "I have never been more afraid of stones falling from the sky than I am in this day, except for Suhail ibn Bayda." Allah Almighty then revealed, "It is not for a prophet to have captives [of war] until he inflicts a massacre [upon Allah 's enemies] in the land. Some Muslims desire the commodities of this world, but Allah desires [for you] the Hereafter. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise" [Quran 8:67] until His saying, "If it had not been for a decree from Allah which preceded, you would have been touched for what you took by a great punishment" [Quran 8:68].

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, there will be leaders upon you, and you will see their aftermath." They asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what should we do if we witness such things?" He said: "Fulfill the rights that are upon you, and ask Allah for your rights."

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "You will see after me, selfishness (on the part of other people) and other matters that you will disapprove of." They asked, "What do you order us to do, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ? (under such circumstances)?" He said, "Pay their rights to them (to the rulers) and ask your right from Allah." [Machine] "Verily, the hour will not be established until inheritance is not divided and booty is not rejoiced over." He (the Prophet) said: "The enemies will gather against the people of Islam and the people of Islam will gather against them." Then, he mentioned the narration: He (the Prophet) said: "A cry will come to them that the Dajjal (the Antichrist) has left behind (his offspring), so they will reject what is in their hands and accept (what is with the Dajjal's offspring). They will then send ten advance troops." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, I know their names, the names of their fathers, and the colors of their horses. They are the best of troops on the face of the Earth on that day, or he said: They are from the best of troops on the face of the Earth on that day."

[Machine] So I went to him, and with him was Malik ibn Murarah al-Rahawi. I caught the end of his conversation with the Prophetﷺ where he was saying, "O Messenger of Allah, I have been given some of the best camels you can imagine. But I do not like that anyone from the people is given preference over me with two she-camels or more. Isn't this injustice?" The Prophetﷺ replied, "No, that is not injustice. Injustice is when you deprive someone of their right or insult the people."
