ahmad:24160Ismāʿīl > Ayyūb > Abū al-Zubayr > ʿUbayd b. ʿUmayr > Balagh ʿĀʾishah > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr Yaʾmur al-Nisāʾ Idhā Āghtasaln > Yanquḍn Ruʾūsahun

It was conveyed to 'A'isha that 'Abdullah b. 'Amr ordered the women to undo the (plaits) of hair on their heads. She said: How strange it is for Ibn 'Amr that he orders the women to undo the plaits of their head while taking a bath; why does he not order them to shave their beads? I and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took bath from one vessel. I did no more than this that I poured three handfuls of water over my head. (Using translation from Muslim 331)  

أحمد:٢٤١٦٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ بَلَغَ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَأْمُرُ النِّسَاءَ إِذَا اغْتَسَلْنَ أَنْ يَنْقُضْنَ رُءُوسَهُنَّ فَقَالَتْ

يَا عَجَبًا لِابْنِ عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ يَأْمُرُ النِّسَاءَ إِذَا اغْتَسَلْنَ أَنْ يَنْقُضْنَ رُءُوسَهُنَّ أَفَلَا يَأْمُرُهُنَّ أَنْ يَحْلِقْنَ لَقَدْ كُنْتُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَغْتَسِلُ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ فَمَا أَزِيدُ عَلَى أَنْ أُفْرِغَ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثَ إِفْرَاغَاتٍ

"The Messenger of Allah would become sexually impure and then sleep without water until he got up later on and taken a bath." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 581)  

أحمد:٢٤١٦١حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُجْنِبُ ثُمَّ يَنَامُ وَلَا يَمَسُّ مَاءً حَتَّى يَقُومَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَيَغْتَسِلَ

he said: i asked 'A'ishah (God be pleased with her): "how was the prayer of God's Messenger ﷺ?"

she said: "Who of you can [do] what God's Messenger ﷺ can [do]? His deeds were unending"

أحمد:٢٤١٦٢حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَسَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ وَأَيُّكُمْ يَسْتَطِيعُ مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْتَطِيعُ كَانَ عَمَلُهُ دِيمَةً  

ahmad:24163Jarīr > Manṣūr > Abū al-Ḍuḥá > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ often said while bowing and prostrating himself; “Glory be to Thee, O Allah, out Lord.” And “Praise be to Thee, O Allah, forgive me,” Thus interpreting the (command in the Qur’an). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 877)  

أحمد:٢٤١٦٣حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ فِيرُكُوعِهِ وَسُجُودِهِ سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَبِحَمْدِكَ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي يَتَأَوَّلُ الْقُرْآنَ  

ahmad:24164Jarīr > Qābūs from his father

[Machine] My father sent a woman to Aisha asking her which prayer was most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for him to adhere to. She said, "He used to pray four units of prayer before Dhuhr, in which he would prolong his standing and perfect his bowing and prostration. As for the prayers he did not abandon, whether he was healthy or sick, present or absent, or witnessing, he would perform two units before Fajr."  

أحمد:٢٤١٦٤حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ قَابُوسَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَرْسَلَ أَبِي امْرَأَةً إِلَى عَائِشَةَ يَسْأَلُهَا أَيُّ الصَّلَاةِ كَانَتْ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُوَاظِبَ عَلَيْهَا؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ أَرْبَعًا يُطِيلُ فِيهِنَّ الْقِيَامَ وَيُحْسِنُ فِيهِنَّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ فَأَمَّا مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ يَدَعُ صَحِيحًا وَلَا مَرِيضًا وَلَا غَائِبًاوَلَا شَاهِدًا فَرَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ  

ahmad:24165Yaḥyá > Sufyān > ʿĀṣim b. ʿUbaydullāh > al-Qāsim

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he kissed Uthman ibn Maz'un while he was dead, and I saw that tears were flowing (from his eyes). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3163)   

أحمد:٢٤١٦٥حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَبَّلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ مَظْعُونٍ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ الدُّمُوعَ تَسِيلُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ  

ahmad:24166Yaḥyá > Abū Ḥazrah > ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Prayer should not be conducted in the presence of food, nor while one is fending off the dirtiest things."  

أحمد:٢٤١٦٦حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي حَزْرَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يُصَلَّى بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ وَلَا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الْأَخْبَثَانِ  

ahmad:24167Yaḥyá > Ibn Jurayj > ʿAṭāʾ > ʿUbayd b. ʿUmayr > ʿĀʾishah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was more particular about observing the supererogatory rak'ahs before the dawn prayer than about observing any of the other supererogatory prayers. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1254)   

أحمد:٢٤١٦٧حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنَ النَّوَافِلِ أَشَدَّ مُعَاهَدَةً مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ  

ahmad:24168Yaḥyá > ʿUbaydullāh > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , Bilal calls the adhan at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the adhan. She said, "I am not aware of it except that he would call it when this one descends and that one ascends."  

أحمد:٢٤١٦٨حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ قَالَتْ فَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا كَانَ قَدْرَ مَا يَنْزِلُ هَذَا وَيَرْقَى هَذَا  

ahmad:24169Yaḥyá > ʿUbaydullāh > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

I used to sleep with my legs in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he would offer his prayer at night (i.e. tahajjud prayer offered towards the end of the night.). When he prostrated himself he struck my legs, and I drew them up and he then prostrated. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 712)  

أحمد:٢٤١٦٩حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

بِئْسَمَا عَدَلْتُمُونَا بِالْكَلْبِ وَالْحِمَارِ قَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي وَأَنَا مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ غَمَزَ يَعْنِي رِجْلِي فَضَمَمْتُهَا إِلَيَّ ثُمَّ يَسْجُدُ  

ahmad:24170Yaḥyá > Mālik > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār > Sulaymān b. Yasār > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet: breastfeeding prohibits what childbirth prohibits. Abdullah ibn Abu Bakr reported to me through Umrah, who reported to me from Aisha, who reported from the Prophet, something similar to this.  

أحمد:٢٤١٧٠حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الْوِلَادَةِ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ  

ahmad:24171Abū Muʿāwiyah And Ibn Numayr > al-Aʿmash > Shaqīq > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

"When a woman spends" and my father said: - "When a woman feeds (the poor) from her husband's house, without spending too much, she will have her reward, and he will be rewarded likewise because he earned it , and she will be rewarded for what she spent. The same applies to the storekeeper, without anything being detracted from their rewards.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2294)   

أحمد:٢٤١٧١حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَنْفَقَتْ وَقَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ إِذَا أَطْعَمَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا وَقَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيةَ إِذَا أَنْفَقَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا غَيْرَ مُفْسِدَةٍ كَانَ لَهَا أَجْرُهَا وَلَهُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ بِمَا كَسَبَ وَلَهَا بِمَا أَنْفَقَتْ وَلِلْخَازِنِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْءٌ  

ahmad:24172Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Zakariyyā > ʿĀmir > Shurayḥ b. Hāniʾ Qālaḥaddathatniá ʿĀʾishah

He who loves to meet Allah, Allah also loves to meet him, and he who dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also abhors to meet him. (Using translation from Muslim 2683a)   

أحمد:٢٤١٧٢حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُرَيْحُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ قَالَحَدَّثَتْنِى عَائِشَةُ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللهِ ﷻ أَحَبَّ اللهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللهِ كَرِهَ اللهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَالْمَوْتُ قَبْلَ لِقَاءِ اللهِ  

ahmad:24173Yaḥyá > Jābir b. Ṣubḥ > Khilās > ʿĀʾishah

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I would sleep under a single blanket when I was menstruating. If anything got on him from me, he would wash that spot and no more, and pray in it, then come back. If anything got on it again from me, he would do likewise and no more, and he would pray in it." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 284)   

أحمد:٢٤١٧٣حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ صُبْحٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خِلَاسًا قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُنْتُ أَبِيتُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الشِّعَارِ الْوَاحِدِ وَأَنَا طَامِثٌ حَائِضٌ قَالَتْ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ غَسَلَهُ لَمْ يَعْدُ مَكَانَهُ وَصَلَّى فِيهِ وَإِنْ أَصَابَهٌ مٍنْهُ شَيْءٌ لَمْ يَعُدَّ ذَلِكَ  

ahmad:24174Yaḥyá > ʿUbaydullāh > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to kiss or I used to kiss him while he was fasting. And which of you has more control over his desire than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?  

أحمد:٢٤١٧٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُقَبِّلُ أَوْ يُقَبِّلُنِي وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ وَأَيُّكُمْ كَانَ أَمْلَكَ لِإِرْبِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ  

ahmad:24175Yaḥyá > Sufyān > Sulaymān > Muslim > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to seek refuge for some of his family members by wiping them with his right hand, saying, 'I seek refuge for you in the Lord of mankind, cure and heal, for indeed, you are the only Curator, there is no cure except for Your cure, which leaves no ailment behind.' Then I mentioned it to Mansur and he narrated it to me from Ibrahim, from Masruq, from Aisha, similar to it."  

أحمد:٢٤١٧٥حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُعَوِّذُ بَعْضَ أَهْلِهِ يَمْسَحُهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُولُ أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ وَاشْفِ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا قَالَ فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِمَنْصُورٍ فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍعَنْ عَائِشَةَ نَحْوَهُ  

ahmad:24176Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash And Ibn Numayr > al-Aʿmash > Shaqīq > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not leave dinars, dirhams, camels and goats, nor did he leave will for anything. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2863)  

أحمد:٢٤١٧٦حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

مَا تَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دِينَارًا وَلَا دِرْهَمًاوَلَا شَاةً وَلَا بَعِيرًا وَلَا أَوْصَى بِشَيْءٍ  

ahmad:24177ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Sufyān > al-Aʿmash > Shaqīq > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "When a woman spends (gives) from the food of her husband, he should mention its significance and say, 'Neither of them should withhold or subtract anything from it.'"  

أحمد:٢٤١٧٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أَنْفَقَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ طَعَامِ زَوْجِهَا فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَقَالَ لَا يَنْقُصُ وَاحِدٌ مِنْهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ شَيْئًا  

ahmad:24178Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Shaqīq > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

a Jewish woman came to her and asked her to give her something, so 'Aishah gave her something, and she said: "May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave." 'Aishah said:" She made me worried, until the Messenger of Allah came and I mentioned that to him. He said: 'They are tormented in their graves with a torment that the animals hear."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2066)   

أحمد:٢٤١٧٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

دَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهَا يَهُودِيَّةٌ اسْتَوْهَبَتْهَا طِيبًا فَوَهَبَتْ لَهَا عَائِشَةُ فَقَالَتْ أَجَارَكِ اللهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ قَالَتْ فَوَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِلْقَبْرِ عَذَابًا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّهُمْ لَيُعَذَّبُونَ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ عَذَابًا تَسْمَعُهُ الْبَهَائِمُ  

ahmad:24179Abū Muʿāwiyah And Ibn Numayr al-Maʿná > al-Aʿmash > Muslim > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] Two men came to the Prophet ﷺ and he scolded and cursed them. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, for whoever you have done good, they have not received the same goodness from these two men?" He replied, "Did you not know what obligations my Lord has placed upon me?" I said, "O Allah, to whichever believer I have cursed, beaten or reviled, make it for him forgiveness and wellbeing, and so on."  

أحمد:٢٤١٧٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ الْمَعْنَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ رَجُلَانِ فَأَغْلَظَ لَهُمَا وَسَبَّهُمَا قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَمَنْ أَصَابَ مِنْكَ خَيْرًا مَا أَصَابَ هَذَانِ مِنْكَ خَيْرًا؟ قَالَتْ فَقَالَ أَوَمَا عَلِمْتِ مَا عَاهَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ رَبِّي ﷻ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللهُمَّ أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ سَبَبْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ أَوْ لَعَنْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ مَغْفِرَةً وَعَافِيَةً وَكَذَا وَكَذَا

What has happened to the people that they avoid that for which permission has been granted to me? By Allah, I have the best knowledge of Allah amongst them, and fear Him most amongst them. (Using translation from Muslim 2356c)

رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي أَمْرٍ فَتَنَزَّهَ عَنْهُ نَاسٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى بَانَ الْغَضَبُ فِي وَجْهِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بَالُ قَوْمٍ يَرْغَبُونَ عَمَّا رُخِّصَ لِي فِيهِ فَوَاللهِ لَأَنَا أَعْلَمُهُمْ بِاللهِ ﷻ وَأَشَدُّهُمْ لَهُ خَشْيَةً

"The Messenger of Allah gave us the choice and we chose him, and that was not counted as anything." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3445)

خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ فَلَمْ يَعْدُدْهَا عَلَيْنَا شَيْئًا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and Ibn Ja'far said, Shu'bah narrated to us from Sulaiman, from Abu Duhha, from Masruq, from Aisha who said, "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to seek refuge with these words: 'Remove the suffering, O Lord of mankind, and cure, for You are the Healer. There is no healing but Yours, a healing that leaves no ailment.' She said, 'When the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , became extremely ill in the illness that led to his death, I held his hand and began wiping his face with it, while saying these words. He then removed his hand from mine and said, 'O Lord, forgive me and join me with the righteous.' Abu Muawiyah said, 'She said, 'This was the last thing I heard from him.'' Ibn Ja'far said, 'Whenever the Prophet, ﷺ , fell ill, he would wipe his face with his hand and say, "Remove the suffering".'

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُعَوِّذُ بِهَذِهِ الْكَلِمَاتِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ اشْفِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ أَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ فَجَعَلْتُ أَمْسَحُهُ بِهَا وَأَقُولُهَا قَالَتْ فَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ مِنِّي ثُمَّ قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالرَّفِيقِ قَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَتْ فَكَانَ هَذَا آخِرَ مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ كَلَامِهِ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا عَادَ مَرِيضًا مَسَحَهُ بِيَدِهِ وَقَالَ أَذْهِبْ  

ahmad:24183Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Ḥabīb > ʿAṭāʾ > ʿĀʾishah > Saraqahā Sāriq Fadaʿat ʿAlayh

[Machine] It translates to: "She has the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , do not underestimate him."  

أحمد:٢٤١٨٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ سَرَقَهَا سَارِقٌ فَدَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ

لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تُسَبِّخِي عَنْهُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Get me the mat from the mosque. I said: I am menstruating. Upon this he remarked: Your menstruation is not in your hand. (Using translation from Muslim 298a)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَاوِلِينِي الْخُمْرَةَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ إِنِّي حَائِضٌ؟ قَالَ إِنَّ حَيْضَتَكِ لَيْسَتْ فِي يَدِكِ

[Machine] Narrated Aisha, she said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Consult women with regards to their clothing." It was said, "But what about the maiden, who feels shy to speak?" He said, "Her silence is a form of consent."  

أحمد:٢٤١٨٥حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَيَحْيَى الْمَعْنَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ أَبِي عَمْرٍو مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَقَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَأْمِرُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي أَبْضَاعِهِنَّ قَالَ قِيلَ فَإِنَّ الْبِكْرَ تَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ تَكَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ سُكُاتُهَا إِذْنُهَا

[Machine] Which day is this? We said it is Monday. He asked, "On which day was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taken?" We said, "He was taken on Monday." He said, "I hope that the time between me and the night is not long." She said, "He had a garment with patches on it." He said, "When I die, wash this garment of mine and add to it two new garments and shroud me in three garments." We said, "Shall we not make all of them new?" He said, "No, it is only for the period of transition." She said, "Then he died on the night of Tuesday."  

أحمد:٢٤١٨٦حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ لَمَّا ثَقُلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ

أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا؟ قُلْنَا يَوْمُ الِاثْنَيْنِ قَالَ فَأَيُّ يَوْمٍ قُبِضَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ قُلْنَا قُبِضَ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ قَالَ فَإِنِّي أَرْجُو مَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ اللَّيْلِ قَالَتْ وَكَانَ عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ بِهِ رَدْعٌ مِنْ مِشْقٍ فَقَالَ إِذَا أَنَا مِتُّ فَاغْسِلُوا ثَوْبِي هَذَا وَضُمُّوا إِلَيْهِ ثَوْبَيْنِ جَدِيدَيْنِ فَكَفِّنُونِي فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ فَقُلْنَا أَفَلَا نَجْعَلُهَا جُدُدًا كُلَّهَا؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَا إِنَّمَا هُوَ لِلْمُهْلَةِ قَالَتْ فَمَاتَ لَيْلَةَ الثُّلَاثَاءِ  

ahmad:24187Abū Muʿāwiyah > Hishām b. ʿUrwah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Qāsim from his father > ʿĀʾishah

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) said: There were three issues which were clarified in case of Barira: her owners had decided to sell her on the condition that the right of her inheritance would vest with them. She ('A'isha) said: I made a mention of that to Allah's Apostle ﷺ and he said: Buy her and emancipate her, for verily the right of inheritance vests with one who emancipates. She said that she emancipated (her) and Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave her the option (either to retain her matrimonial alliance or break it after emancipation). She (taking advantage of the option) opted for herself (the severing of matrimonial alliance). 'A'isha said: The people used to give her charity and she gave us that as gift. I made a mention of it to Allah's Apostle ﷺ, whereupon he said: That is charity for her but gift for you, so take that. (Using translation from Muslim 1504f)  

أحمد:٢٤١٨٧حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ فِي بَرِيرَةَ ثَلَاثُ قَضِيَّاتٍ أَرَادَ أَهْلُهَا أَنْ يَبِيعُوهَا وَيَشْتَرِطُوا الْوَلَاءَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ اشْتَرِيهَا فَأَعْتِقِيهَا فَإِنَّمَا الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ قَالَتْ وَعَتَقَتْ فَخَيَّرَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاخْتَارَتْ نَفْسَهَا قَالَتْ وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يَتَصَدَّقُونَ عَلَيْهَا فَتُهْدِي لَنَا فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ هُوَ عَلَيْهَا صَدَقَةٌ وَهُوَ لَكُمْ هَدِيَّةٌ فَكُلُوهُ

“At every part of the night the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Witr, at the beginning and in the middle, and finally his Witr was just before dawn.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1186)

مِنْ كُلِّ اللَّيْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَانْتَهَى وِتْرُهُ إِلَى السَّحَرِ

[Machine] There was a woman whom people would mention her diligence about. They mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, "The most beloved religion to Allah ﷻ is that which is consistently maintained, even if it is little."  

أحمد:٢٤١٨٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَتْ امْرَأَةٌ تَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهَا تَذْكُرُ مِنْ اجْتِهَادِهَا قَالَ فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَحَبَّ الدِّينِ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ مَا دُووِمَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ  

ahmad:24190Abū Muʿāwiyah > Hishām b. ʿUrwah > Abīhiʿan ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ had a garment that he gave to Abu Jahmah, and he took a cloak in exchange for it. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed the garment is better than the cloak." He replied, "I used to look at its design during prayer."  

أحمد:٢٤١٩٠حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ خَمِيصَةٌ فَأَعْطَاهَا أَبَا جَهْمَةَ وَأَخَذَ أَنْبِجَانِيَّةً لَهُ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ الْخَمِيصَةَ هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْأَنْبِجَانِيَّةِ قَالَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَنْظُرُ إِلَى عَلَمِهَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would sit and recite whatever Allah (glory be to Him) willed, he would continue until he completed thirty or forty verses from the Surah. Then, he would stand and recite them, and then prostrate.  

أحمد:٢٤١٩١حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا بَدَّنَ وَثَقُلَ يَقْرَأُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ ﷻ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَإِذَا غَبَرَ مِنَ السُّورَةِ ثَلَاثُونَ أَوْ أَرْبَعُونَ آيَةً قَامَ فَقَرَأَهَا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ

[Machine] The Prophet, ﷺ , used to be brought young boys, and he would pray for them. Once, a young boy was brought to him and he urinated on him. The Prophet, ﷺ , said, "Pour water over it."  

أحمد:٢٤١٩٢حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُؤْتَى بِالصِّبْيَانَ فَيَدْعُو لَهُمْ وَإِنَّهُ أُتِيَ بِصَبِيٍّ فَبَالَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صُبُّوا عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ صَبًّا

“When the Verses at the end of Surat Al-Baqarah concerning usury were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and forbade dealing in wine.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3382)   

أحمد:٢٤١٩٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَاتُ مِنْ آخِرِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الرِّبَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَحَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ  

ahmad:24194Ibn Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > Sulaymān

[Machine] I heard Aba Al-Dhuhah narrate to us, meaning when the verses were revealed from the last portion of Surah Al-Baqarah.  

أحمد:٢٤١٩٤حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الضُّحَى مَعْنَاهُ يَعْنِي لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَاتُ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ

"Praise is to Allah Whose hearing encompasses all voices. The woman who disputed concerning her husband (Al-Mujadilah) came to the Prophet when I was (sitting) in a corner of the house, and she complained about her husband, but I did not hear what she said. The Allah revealed: 'Indeed Allah has heard the statement of her that disputes with you concerning her husband.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 188)   

أحمد:٢٤١٩٥حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي وَسِعَ سَمْعُهُ الْأَصْوَاتَ لَقَدْ جَاءَتِ الْمُجَادِلَةُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تُكَلِّمُهُ وَأَنَا فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْبَيْتِ مَا أَسْمَعُ مَا تَقُولُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {قَدْ سَمِعَ اللهُ قَوْلَ الَّتِي تُجَادِلُكَ فِي زَوْجِهَا } [المجادلة 1] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ

Hamzat al-Aslami asked the Prophet ﷺ: Messenger of Allah, I am a man who keeps perpetual fast, may I fast while on a journey? He replied: Fast if you like, or break your fast if you like. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2402)   

أحمد:٢٤١٩٦حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

جَاءَ حَمْزَةُ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي رَجُلٌ أَسْرُدُ الصَّوْمَ أَفَأَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ  

ahmad:24197ʿAbdullāh b. Numayr > Ḥajjāj > Qatādah > Ṣafiyyah b. Shaybah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, every tribe has its resources, and the resources of the Quraish are their allies."  

أحمد:٢٤١٩٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ مَادَّةً وَإِنَّ مَوَادَّ قُرَيْشٍ مَوَالِيهِمْ  

ahmad:24198Abū Muʿāwiyah > ʿĀṣim > Tubālah b. Yazīd al-ʿAbshamiyyah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "We used to throw to the Prophet ﷺ in a water-skin, then take a handful of raisins or a handful of dates and throw it in the water-skin, then he would leave it for the night and would drink from it during the day, and vice versa, he would drink from it during the day and leave it for the night."  

أحمد:٢٤١٩٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ تُبَالَةَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ الْعَبْشَمِيَّةِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُنَّا نَنْبِذُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سِقَاءٍ فَنَأْخُذُ قَبْضَةً مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ قَبْضَةً مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَنَطْرَحُهَا فِي السِّقَاءِ ثُمَّ نَصُبُّ عَلَيْهَا الْمَاءَ لَيْلًا فَيَشْرَبُهُ نَهَارًا أَوْ نَهَارًا فَيَشْرَبُهُ لَيْلًا  

ahmad:24199Abū Muʿāwiyah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Bakr al-Qurashī > Ibn Abū Mulaykah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became weak, he said to Abdur Rahman ibn Abu Bakr, "Bring me a shoulder or a tablet so that I may write a book for Abu Bakr that will not be disputed." When Abdur Rahman went to fetch it, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah and the believers not allow any dispute concerning you, O Abu Bakr."  

أحمد:٢٤١٩٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

لَمَّا ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ائْتِنِي بِكَتِفٍ أَوْ لَوْحٍ حَتَّى أَكْتُبَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ كِتَابًا لَا يُخْتَلَفُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ لِيَقُومَ قَالَ أَبَى اللهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ أَنْ يُخْتَلَفَ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ  

ahmad:24200Ismāʿīl > Ayyūb > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Mulaykah > ʿĀʾishah

He who is taken to account on the Day of Resurrection is in fact put to torment. I said: Has Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, not said this: 'He will be made subject to an easy reckoning" (Ixxxiv. 8)? Thereupon he said: (What it implies) is not the actual reckoning, but only the presentation of one's deeds to Him. He who is thoroughly examined in reckoning is put to torment. أحمد:٢٤٢٠٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ حُوسِبَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عُذِّبَ قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ أَلَيْسَ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ {فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا} [الانشقاق 8] قَالَ لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِالْحِسَابِ وَلَكِنَّ ذَلِكَ الْعَرْضُ مَنْ نُوقِشَ الْحِسَابَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عُذِّبَ

'A'isha reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding (the preparation of Nabidh) in varnished jar, green pitcher, gourd, and hollow stump, (Using translation from Muslim 1995e)  

أحمد:٢٤٢٠١حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ  

ahmad:24202Ismāʿīl > Burd b. Sinān > ʿUbādah b. Nusay > Ghuḍayf b. al-Ḥārith

Ghudayf ibn al-Harith reported: I asked Aisha: Have you seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ washing (because of defilement) at the beginning of the night or at the end? She replied: Sometimes he would take a bath at the beginning of the night and sometimes at the end. Thereupon I exclaimed: Allah is most Great. All Praise be to Allah Who made this matter accommodative. I again asked her: What do you think, did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say the witr prayer (additional prayer after obligatory prayer at night) in the beginning of the night or at the end? She replied: Sometimes he would say the witr prayer at the beginning of the night and sometimes at the end. I exclaimed: Allah is most Great. All praise be to Allah Who made the matter accommodative. Again I asked her: What do you think, did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite the Qur'an (in the prayer) loudly or softly? She replied: Sometimes he would recite loudly and sometimes softly. I exclaimed: Allah is most Great. All praise be to Allah Who made the matter flexible. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 226)  

أحمد:٢٤٢٠٢حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا بُرْدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نُسَيٍّ عَنْ غُضَيْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَرَأَيْتِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فِي أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ أَمْ فِي آخِرِهِ؟ قَالَتْ رُبَّمَا اغْتَسَلَ فِي أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَرُبَّمَا اغْتَسَلَ فِي آخِرِهِ قُلْتُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ سَعَةًقُلْتُ أَرَأَيْتِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ فِي أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ أَوْ فِي آخِرِهِ؟ قَالَتْ رُبَّمَا أَوْتَرَ فِي أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَرُبَّمَا أَوْتَرَ فِي آخِرِهِ قُلْتُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ سَعَةًقُلْتُ أَرَأَيْتِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَجْهَرُ بِالْقُرْآنِ أَوْ يُخْفِتُ بِهِ؟ قَالَتْ رُبَّمَا جَهَرَ بِهِ وَرُبَّمَا خَفَتَ قُلْتُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ سَعَةً  

ahmad:24203Ismāʿīl > Muḥammad b. Isḥāq > ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Bakrʿan ʿĀʾishah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿThe siwak is purifying for the mouth and pleasing to the Lord.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 62)  

أحمد:٢٤٢٠٣حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ السِّوَاكُ مَطْهَرَةٌ لِلْفَمِ مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ

The Prophet ﷺ said: The most perfect believer in respect of faith is he who is best of them in manners. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4682)   

أحمد:٢٤٢٠٤حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْمَلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِيمَانًا أَحْسَنَهُمْ خُلُقًا وَأَلْطَفَهُمْ بِأَهْلِهِ  

ahmad:24205Ismāʿīl > Ibn Jurayj > Sulaymān b. Mūsá > al-Zuhrī > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If a woman is married without the permission of her guardian, then her marriage is invalid. Her marriage is invalid. Her marriage is invalid. If he consummates the marriage, she is entitled to her dowry according to what he has consummated. If they disagree, then the ruler is the guardian of one who has no guardian." Ibn Jurayj said, "I met Al-Zuhri and asked him about this hadith, but he did not know it. Sulaiman ibn Musa praised it." Abdullah said, "My father said, 'The ruler is the judge because he is in charge of matters of marriage and rulings.'"  

أحمد:٢٤٢٠٥حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قالَ رَسولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا نُكِحَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ بِغَيْرِ أَمْرِ مَوْلَاهَا فَنِكَاحُهَا بَاطِلٌ فَنكَاحُهَا بَاطِلٌ فَنِكَاحُهَا بَاطِلٌ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهَا فَلَهَا مَهْرُهَا بِمَا أَصَابَ مِنْهَا فَإِنْ اشْتَجَرُوا فَالسُّلْطَانُ وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ فَلَقِيتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَلَمْ يَعْرِفْهُ قَالَ وَكَانَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَكَانَ فَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ قَالَ أَبِي السُّلْطَانُ الْقَاضِي لِأَنَّ إِلَيْهِ أَمْرَ الْفُرُوجِ وَالْأَحْكَامِ  

ahmad:24206Ismāʿīl > ʿAlī b. Zayd > Saʿīd b. al-Musayyib > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If a person sits between the four limbs [i.e., the thighs] and their circumcised part touches the circumcised part, then Ghusl (ritual bath) becomes obligatory."  

أحمد:٢٤٢٠٦أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَعَدَ بَيْنَ الشُّعَبِ الْأَرْبَعِ ثُمَّ أَلْزَقَ الْخِتَانَ بِالْخِتَانِ فَقَدْ وَجَبَ الْغُسْلُ  

ahmad:24207Abū Muʿāwiyah > ʿAmr b. Maymūn b. Mihrān > Sulaymān b. Yasār > ʿĀʾishah

she washed Mani from the garment of Messenger of Allah. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 117)   

أحمد:٢٤٢٠٧حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا غَسَلَتْ مَنِيًّا أَصَابَ ثَوْبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ  

ahmad:24208Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Muslim b. Ṣubayḥ > Masrūqʿan ʿĀʾishah

"The Messenger of Allah gave us the choice and we chose him, and that was not counted as anything." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3445)  

أحمد:٢٤٢٠٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ فلم يَعْدُدْهَا عَلَيْنَا شَيْئًا

[Machine] The sleeping bed on which the Prophet ﷺ used to sleep at night was filled with palm leaves.  

أحمد:٢٤٢٠٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ ضِجَاعُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الَّذِي يَنَامُ عَلَيْهِ بِاللَّيْلِ مِنْ أَدَمٍ مَحْشُوًّا لِيفًا
