الزهد لأحمد:٦٩٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْأَوْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنِ الْأَجْلَحِ عَنْ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ

«لَمَّا أَرْسَلَ عُثْمَانُ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ مَا فِي التَّعَاقُبِ وَجَدَهُ مُتَّزِرًا بِعَبَاءَةٍ مُحْتَجِزًا بِعِقَالٍ وَهُوَ يَهْنَأُ بَعِيرًا لَهُ»
