[Machine] "If Allah intends good for a servant, He puts contentment in his heart and preserves what is lost for him. And if Allah intends harm for a servant, He causes his poverty to appear before his eyes and exposes his faults."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٦٤٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ قَالَ

«إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا جَعَلَ غِنَاهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَكَفَّ عَلَيْهِ ضَيْعَتَهُ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِعَبْدٍ شَرًّا جَعَلَ فَقْرَهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَأَفْشَى عَلَيْهِ ضَيْعَتَهُ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When Allah intends good for His servant, He withholds him from his property and makes him content with what is in his heart. And when Allah intends evil for His servant, He spreads his property and makes his poverty apparent before his eyes."  

الزهد لأحمد:٢٣٤٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا كَفَّ عَلَيْهِ ضَيْعَتَهُ وَجَعَلَ غِنَاهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِعَبْدٍ شَرًّا بَثَّ عَلَيْهِ ضَيْعَتَهُ وَجَعَلَ فَاقَتَهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ»
