[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to spend consecutive nights without dinner or supper, and his family would not find any lunch or dinner. Most of their bread was made from barley." Abu Sa'id said, "And most of their food was made from barley."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٥٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ؛ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا هِلَالٌ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِيَ الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ طَاوِيًا وَأَهْلُهُ لَا يَجِدُونَ غَدَاءً وَلَا عَشَاءً وَكَانَ عَامَّةُ خُبْزِهِمُ الشَّعِيرَ» قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ وَكَانَ عَامَّةُ طَعَامِهِمُ الشَّعِيرَ
