Jabir said, "I came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about a debt my father owed. I knocked at the door and he asked. 'Who is it?' 'Me,' I replied. He said, 'Me? Me?' as if he disliked that."  

الأدب المفرد:١٠٨٦حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي دَيْنٍ كَانَ عَلَى أَبِي فَدَقَقْتُ الْبَابَ فَقَالَ مَنْ ذَا؟ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا قَالَ أَنَا أَنَا؟ كَأَنَّهُ كَرِهَهُ

I came to the Prophet ﷺ in order to consult him regarding my father's debt. When I knocked on the door, he asked, "Who is that?" I replied, "I" He said, "I, I?" He repeated it as if he disliked it.

I knocked at the door. He asked : who is there? I replied: it is I. he said: I, as though he disapproved of it.  

أبو داود:٥١٨٧حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ

أَنَّهُ ذَهَبَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي دَيْنِ أَبِيهِ فَدَقَقْتُ الْبَابَ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قُلْتُ أَنَا قَالَ أَنَا أَنَا كَأَنَّهُ كَرِهَهُ  

tirmidhi:2711Sūwayd b. Naṣr > Ibn al-Mubārak > Shuʿbah > Muḥammad b. al-Munkadir > Jābir

"I sought permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ regarding a debt my father owed, so he said: 'Who is this?' I said: 'Me.' He said: 'Me, me.'As if he disliked that."  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.
الترمذي:٢٧١١حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

اسْتَأْذَنْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي دَيْنٍ كَانَ عَلَى أَبِي فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا فَقُلْتُ أَنَا فَقَالَ أَنَا أَنَا كَأَنَّهُ كَرِهَ ذَلِكَ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
