A’ishah said the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ visited her when a man was with her. The narrator Hafs said “this grieved him and he frowned”. The agreed version then goes, She said “He is my foster brother Apostle of Allaah ﷺ”. He said “Consider, who are you brethren, for fosterage is consequent on hunger.”  

أبو داود:٢٠٥٨حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ الْمَعْنَى وَاحِدٌ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا رَجُلٌ قَالَ حَفْصٌ فَشَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ ثُمَّ اتَّفَقَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ فَقَالَ انْظُرْنَ مَنْ إِخْوَانُكُنَّ فَإِنَّمَا الرَّضَاعَةُ مِنَ الْمَجَاعَةِ

Once the Prophet ﷺ came to me while a man was in my house. He said, "O ʿAisha! Who is this (man)?" I replied, "My foster brothers" He said, "O ʿAisha! Be sure about your foster brothers, as fostership is only valid if it takes place in the suckling period (before two years of age).

that the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her while a man was sitting with her. Signs of answer seemed to appear on his face as if he disliked that. She said, "Here is my (foster) brother." He said, "Be sure as to who is your foster brother, for foster suckling relationship is established only when milk is the only food of the child."

Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited me when a man was sitting near me, and he seemed to disapprove of that. And I saw signs of anger on his face and I said: Messenger of Allah, he is my brother by forsterage, whereupon he said: Consider who your brothers are because of fosterage since fosterage is through hunger (i. e. in infancy).

"Aishah said: 'The Messenger of Allah entered upon me and there was a man sitting with me. He got upset about that, and I saw the anger in his face.' I said: "O Messenger of Allah, he is my brother through breast-feeding." He said: "Be careful who you count as your brothers" --or: "be careful who you count as your brothers through breast-feeding"-- "for the breast-feeding (which makes marriage prohibited) is from hunger."

that the Prophet entered upon her and there was a man with her. He said: “Who is this? She said: “This is my brother.” He said: “Look at whom you allow to enter upon you, because the breastfeeding (that makes a person Mahram) is that which satisfies hunger.”

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Aisha and there was a man with her. He asked, "Who is this?" She said, "He is my brother through breastfeeding." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Look carefully at who you breastfeed, for breastfeeding only occurs due to hunger." Abdul Rahman said, "Look at who your brothers are, as breastfeeding only occurs due to hunger."

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her, and with her was a man. The face of the messenger of Allah ﷺ changed as if he became angry at him. She said, "O messenger of Allah, he is my brother." The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Look at your brothers, for breastfeeding only produces kinship due to hunger."
