abudawud:1060 – Muḥammad b. ʿUbayd > Ḥammād b. Zayd > Ayyūb > Nāfiʿ

Ibn ‘Umar stayed at Dajnan (a place between Mecca and Medina) on a cold night. He commanded an announcer (to announce). He announced that the people should offer prayer in their dwellings. Ayyub said: Nafi narrated on the authority of Ibn ‘Umar that whenever there was a cold or a rainy day night, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded the announcer (to announce). He announced to offer prayer in the dwellings.  

أبو داود:١٠٦٠ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ نَزَلَ بِضَجْنَانَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ فَأَمَرَ الْمُنَادِيَ فَنَادَى أَنِ الصَّلاَةُ فِي الرِّحَالِ قَالَ أَيُّوبُ وَحَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ بَارِدَةٌ أَوْ مَطِيرَةٌ أَمَرَ الْمُنَادِيَ فَنَادَى الصَّلاَةُ فِي الرِّحَالِ

Once on a very cold and stormy night, Ibn ʿUmar pronounced the Adhan for the prayer and then said, "Pray in your homes." He (Ibn ʿUmar) added. "On very cold and rainy nights Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to order the Mu'adh-dhin to say, 'Pray in your homes.' "

abudawud:1063 – al-Qaʿnabī > Mālik > Nāfiʿ

Ibn ‘Umar made the call to prayer on a cold and windy night. He then said: “Lo! Pray in the dwellings. “Afterwards he said: Whenever there was a cold or rainy day night, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command the mu’adhdin to announce: “Lo! Pray in the dwellings.”  

أبو داود:١٠٦٣ – حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَعْنِي أَذَّنَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ ذَاتِ بَرْدٍ وَرِيحٍ فَقَالَ أَلاَ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ ثُمَّ قَالَ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ بَارِدَةٌ أَوْ ذَاتُ مَطَرٍ يَقُولُ أَلاَ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ commanded his caller to prayer, and he called out on a rainy day for performing the prayer under the tents.  

أحمد:٢٠٢١١ – حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ مُنَادِيَهُ فَنَادَى فِي يَوْمٍ مَطِيرٍ الصَّلَاةُ فِي الرِّحَالِ

bayhaqi:1866 – Abū Ṭāhir al-Faqīh > Abū Ḥāmid b. Bilāl > Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl al-Aḥmasī > al-Muḥāribī > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar > Nāfiʿ

Nafi' reported: Ibn Umar made the call to prayer at Dajnan (a place between Mecca and Medina). Then he announced: "Offer prayer in your dwellings:" He then narrated a tradition from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He used to command an announcer who made the call to prayer. He then announced: "Pray in your dwellings" on a cold or rainy night during journey. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by Hammad b. Salamah from Ayyub and 'Ubaid Allah. In his version he added: During journey on a cold or a rainy night. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1061)   

البيهقي:١٨٦٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنا أَبُو حَامِدِ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْأَحْمَسِيُّ ثنا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَذَّنَ لَيْلَةً بِضَجْنَانَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَهُمْ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُنَادِي فَيُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي فِي إِثْرِهَا أَنْ صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الْبَارِدَةِ أَوِ اللَّيْلَةِ الْمَطِيرَةِ
