Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a Muslim is questioned in his grave, he will testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and that is what is meant by Allah's Statement:-- "Allah will keep firm those who believe with a Word that stands firm in this world and in the Hereafter." (14.27)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْمُسْلِمُ إِذَا سُئِلَ فِي الْقَبْرِ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ}

This verse: "Allah grants steadfastness to those who believe with firm word," was revealed in connection with the torment of the grave. It would be said to him: Who is your Lord? And he would say: Allah is my Lord and Muhammad is my Apostle ﷺ, and that is (what is implied) by the words of Allah, the Exalted: "Allah keeps steadfast those who believe with firm word in this world and in the Hereafter."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ { يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ} قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْ رَبُّكَ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ وَنَبِيِّيَ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ ﷻ { يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ}

When a Muslim is questioned in the grave he testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle. That is verified by Allah’s words: “Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ إِذَا سُئِلَ فِي الْقَبْرِ فَشَهِدَ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ ﷻ { يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ }

Al-Bara said about Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world and in the Hereafter "It was revealed concerning the torment of the grave.

{ يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ } قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

"Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the world that stands firm in this world, and in the Hereafter. This was revelated concerning the torment in the grave. It will be said to him (the deceased: 'Who is your Lord?' and he will say: 'My Lord is Allah and my Prophet is Muhammad. That is what is (the meaning of) His saying: Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world, and in the Hereafter".

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ { يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ } قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْ رَبُّكَ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ وَدِينِي دِينُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ { يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ }

“Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm.” [14:27] This has been revealed concerning the torment of the grave. عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ {يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ } قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْ رَبُّكَ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ وَنَبِيِّي مُحَمَّدٌ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ}

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said about the grave: When he is asked, he will recognize his Lord, and he will say something that I do not remember. That is what Allah says: "Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this worldly life and in the Hereafter." [Ibrahim 27]

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي الْقَبْرِ إِذَا سُئِلَ فَعَرَفَ رَبَّهُ قَالَ وَقَالَ شَيْئًا لَا أَحْفَظُهُ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ ﷻ {يُثَبِّتُ اللهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ} [إبراهيم 27]

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "The punishment of the grave is mentioned, and it is said to him, 'Who is your Lord?' He replies, 'Allah is my Lord, and Muhammad is my Prophet.' This is in accordance with Allah's saying, 'Allah will establish in steadfastness those who have believed with the firm word in worldly life.' (Surah Ibrahim, 27). This means the Muslim."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ ذَكَرَ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ قَالَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْ رَبُّكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ اللهُ رَبِّي وَنَبِيِّي مُحَمَّدٌ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {يُثَبِّتُ اللهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا} [إبراهيم 27] يَعْنِي بِذَلِكَ الْمُسْلِمَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a believer testifies that there is no deity except Allah and acknowledges Muhammad as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his grave, then this is the saying of Allah, the Exalted, 'Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُؤْمِنُ إِذَا شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَعَرَفَ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي قَبْرِهِ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ} »

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a believer testifies that there is no god but Allah and recognizes Muhammad ﷺ in his grave, then that is Allah's statement: 'Allah will establish those who believe with the firm statement in the worldly life and in the Hereafter.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُؤْمِنُ إِذَا شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَعَرَفَ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ فِي قَبْرِهِ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ} »

Al-Bara said about Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world and in the Hereafter "It was revealed concerning the torment of the grave. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2056)

{يُثَبِّتُ اللهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا} [إبراهيم 27] قَالَ «نَزَلَتْ فِي عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ»

“Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm.” [14:27] This has been revealed concerning the torment of the grave. "إِذَا أُقعِدَ المؤمنُ في قَبْرِه إلى ثمَّ شَهَدَ أن لا إِلَهَ إِلا الله، وأنَّ محمدًا رسولُ الله، فذلك قَوْله: يثبِّتُ اللهُ الذين آمنوا بالقولِ الثابتِ".

"المؤمِن إِذَا شَهِدَ أنْ لَا إِلَه إِلَّا اللهُ، وَعَرَف محمدًا في قَبْرهِ فَذلِكَ قولُ اللهِ ﷻ {يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ}.

"المسلم إِذا سُئِلَ في القبر يشهد أَن لا إِله إلا الله، وأَن محمدًا رسولُ الله، فذلك قوله تعالى: {يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ} ".
