[Machine] He used to offer voluntary prayers before the bowing (rak'ahs) in a prayer, but he did not offer voluntary prayers before the morning prayer.

أَنَّهُ «كَانَ يَقْنُتُ فِي الْوِتْرِ قَبْلَ الرُّكُوعِ وَلَا يَقْنُتُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ»

[Machine] Abdullah used to not perform the morning prayer regularly, and when he did, he would perform the Witr prayer before the last unit.  

الطبراني:٩١٦٦ – حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَلَطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا أَبُو الْعُمَيْسِ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

«كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ لَا يَقْنُتُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ وَإِذَا قَنَتَ فِي الْوِتْرِ قَنَتَ قَبْلَ الرَّكْعَةِ»
