[Machine] A man came to Abdullah with his nephew who was drunk, and he said, "I found him drunk." Abdullah said, "Cover him and pamper him and reprimand him." The man covered him, pampered him, and reprimanded him, and the smell of alcohol was detected from him. Abdullah ordered him to be taken to prison, then he released him the next day. Then he ordered a whip, and it was struck until the skin broke and it became bleeding. Then he said to the executioner, "Whip him again and return your hand, and give each body part its right." So he beat him in a non-excessive manner and put him in a robe and trousers or a shirt and trousers. Then he said, "By the oath of Allah and the womb of Taim, I have not taught him manners but he has taught me manners, and I have not concealed his disgrace." The man said, "O Abu Abdullah, indeed he is my nephew, and I feel for him as I feel for my own son." Abdullah said, "Indeed, Allah loves forgiveness, and it is not appropriate for a guardian to impose a punishment unless he establishes it."  

الطبراني:٨٥٧٢aحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَاجِدٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ بِابْنِ أَخٍ لَهُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ سَكْرَانَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي وَجَدْتُ هَذَا سَكْرَانَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «تَرْتِرُوهُ وَمَزْمِزُوهُ وَاسْتَنْكِهُوهُ» قَالَ فَتُرْتِرَ وَمُزْمِزَ وَاسْتُنْكِهَ فَوُجِدَ مِنْهُ رِيحُ الشَّرَابِ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ إِلَى السِّجْنِ ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِسَوْطٍ فَدُقَّتْ ثَمَرَتُهُ حَتَّى أَحْنَتْ لَهُ مِخْفَقَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلْجَلَّادِ «اجْلِدْ وَأَرْجِعْ يَدَكَ وَأَعْطِ كُلَّ ذِي عُضْوٍ حَقَّهُ» فَضَرَبَهُ ضَرْبًا غَيْرَ مُبَرِّحٍ وَجَعَلَهُ فِي قُبَاءٍ وَسَرَاوِيلَ أَوْ قَمِيصٍ وَسَرَاوِيلَ ثُمَّ قَالَ بِئْسَ لَعَمْرُ اللهِ وَالِي التَّيْمِ مَا أَدَّبْتُ فَأَحْسَنْتُ الْأَدَبَ وَلَا سَتَرْتُ الْخِزْيَةَ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَّهُ ابْنُ أَخِي أَجِدُ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّوْعَةِ مَا أَجِدُ لِوَلَدِي فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ وَلَا يَنْبَغِي لِوَالٍ أَنْ يُؤْتَى بِحَدٍّ إِلَّا أَقَامَهُ»

Abdullah said, "By Allah and the Wali of Taym, I have not disciplined anyone better than I have disciplined him, nor concealed disgrace." The man said, "O Abu Abdur Rahman, he is my cousin's son, and I have never had the same trouble with my own children." Abdullah said, "Verily, Allah loves forgiveness, and it is not appropriate for a guardian to impose a punishment unless he establishes it."

[Machine] A man from the Muslims came with his drunk nephew and said, "O Abu Abdur-Rahman, indeed my nephew is drunk." He replied, "Tie him up and beat him, admonish him, and humiliate him." So they did as instructed and brought him to the prison. Then the man called for him the next day and brought a whip. He ordered his fruits to be pounded between two stones until it turned into a liquid. Ubaidullah pointed with his finger like this and gathered them. Then he said to the executioner, "Whip him and do not refrain from hitting softly. Give each body part its right." I said, "Should I repeat?" He said, "It should not be visible that his armpit is white." So he struck him with a non-severe and non-light strike. I said, "What is a non-light strike?" He said, "It is a strike that is not severe nor soft." He struck him on his shirt and trousers or his shirt and lower garment and mentioned the narration.  

البيهقي:١٧٥٧٨أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ جُنَاحُ بْنُ نَذِيرِ بْنِ جُنَاحٍ الْقَاضِي بِالْكُوفَةِ أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرِ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ أنبأ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى أنبأ إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ يَحْيَى الْجَابِرِ عَنْ أَبِي مَاجِدٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِابْنِ أَخٍ لَهُ وَهُوَ سَكْرَانُ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَّ ابْنَ أَخِي سَكْرَانُ فَقَالَ تَرْتِرُوهُ وَمَزْمِزُوهُ وَاسْتَنْكِهُوهُ فَفَعَلُوا فَرَفَعَهُ إِلَى السِّجْنِ ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ وَدَعَا بِسَوْطٍ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِثَمَرَتِهِ فَدُقَّتْ بَيْنَ حَجَرَيْنِ حَتَّى صَارَتْ دِرَّةً قَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ يُشِيرُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ هَكَذَا وَجَمَعَهُمَا ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلْجَلَّادِ اجْلِدْ وَأَرْجِعْ يَدَكَ وَأَعْطِ كُلَّ عُضْوٍ حَقَّهُ قُلْتُ مَا أَرْجِعُ؟ قَالَ لَا يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطِهِ فَضَرَبَهُ ضَرْبًا غَيْرَ مُبَرِّحٍ قُلْتُ مَا غَيْرُ مُبَرِّحٍ؟ قَالَ ضَرْبٌ لَيْسَ بِالشَّدِيدِ وَلَا بِالْهَيِّنِ وَضَرَبَهُ فِي قَمِيصٍ وَإِزَارٍ أَوْ قَمِيصٍ وَسَرَاوِيلَ وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

"عَنْ أَبى مَاجدٍ الْحَنَفِىِّ أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أَتاهُ رَجُلٌ بِابْنِ أَخِيْهِ وَهُوَ

سَكْرَانُ، فَقَالَ تَرْتِرُوهُ وَمَزْمِزُوهُ وَاسْتَنْكِهُوهُ. فَتَرْتَرُوهُ وَمَزْمزُوهُ (*) واسْتَنْكَهُوُه، فَوَجَدُوا مِنْهُ ريحَ شَرَابٍ، فَأَمَرَ به عَبْدُ الله إِلَى السِّجْنِ، ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بسَوْطٍ فَدُقَّتْ ثَمَرَثُهُ حَتَّى آضَتْ لَهُ مُخَفِّقَةً، يَعْنِى صَارَتْ. ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلْجَلَّادِ: اضْرِبْ وَأَرْجِعْ يَدَكَ وَأَعْطِ كُلَّ عُضْوٍ حَقَّهُ فَضَرَبَهُ عَبْدُ الله ضَرْبًا غَيْرَ مُبَرِّحٍ وَأَوْجَعَهُ، قِيلَ: يَا أَبَا مَاجِدٍ مَا الْمُبَرحُ؟ قَالَ: ضَرْبُ الأُمَرَاءِ، قيلَ: فَمَا قَوْلُهُ: أَرْجِعْ يَدَكَ؟ فَقَالَ: لَا يَتَمَطَّى وَلَا يُرَى إِبِطُه، قَالَ: فَأَقَامَهُ فِى قبَاءٍ وَسَرَاوِيلَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: بئْسَ لعَمْرُ الله وَالَى الْيَتِيمِ هَذَا، مَا أَدَّبْتَ فَأَحْسَنْتَ الأَدَبَ، وَلَا سَتَرْتَ الْجزية، ثُمَّ قَالَ عَبْدُ الله: إِنَّ الله غَفُورٌ يُحِبُّ الْغَفُورَ، وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِى لِوَالٍ أَنْ يُؤتَى بَحَدٍّ إِلَّا أَقَامَهُ، ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ عَبْدُ الله يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ: أَوَّلُ رَجُلٍ قُطِعَ منَ الْمُسْلِمينَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ أُتِىَ بهِ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ فَكَأنَّمَا أُسِفَّ في وَجْهِ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ رَمَادًا - يَعْنِى ذُرَّ عَلَيْه رَمَادٌ فَقَالُوا - يَا رَسُولَ الله: كَأَنَّ هَذَا شَقَّ عَلَيْكَ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ وَمَا يَمْنَعُنى وَأَنْتُمْ أَعَوَانُ الشَّيْطَانِ عَلَى صَاحِبكُمْ، إِنَّ الله عَفُوٌّ يُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ، وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغى لِوَالٍ أَنْ يُؤْتَى بِحَدٍّ إِلَّا أَقَامَهُ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: {وَلْيَعْفُوا وَلْيَصْفَحُوا} ".
