[Machine] I asked Uthman, "Why didn't the Prophet ﷺ send a message to you after he left the Kaaba?" He replied, "He told me, 'I saw the horns of the ram and forgot to instruct you to cover them, as it is not appropriate for something to distract someone who is praying in the house.'"

الطبراني:٨٣٩٦ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ صَفِيَّةَ عَنْ خَالِهِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ قَالَتْ

سَأَلْتُ عُثْمَانَ لِمَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْكَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَعْدَ خُرُوجِهِ مِنَ الْكَعْبَةِ؟ فَقَالَ قَالَ لِي «رَأَيْتُ قَرْنَيِ الْكَبْشِ فَنَسِيتُ أَنْ آمُرَكَ أَنْ تُخَمِّرَهُمَا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي الْبَيْتِ شَيْءٌ يَشْغَلُ مُصَلِّيًا»

[Machine] A woman from the tribe of Sulaym informed me that she had given birth to a child from among the people of our household. She said that the Prophet ﷺ sent a message to Uthman ibn Talhah and said, "I saw the two horns of a ram when I entered the house, and I forgot to command you to slaughter them. It is not appropriate for there to be anything in the house that distracts the one who is praying."

البيهقي:٤٢٩٧ – أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ صَفِيَّةَ عَنْ خَالِهِ مُسَافِعِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ أُمِّ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَتْ

أَخْبَرَتْنِي امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ وَلَدَتْ عَامَّةَ أَهْلِ دَارِنَا قَالَتْ أَرْسَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ قَرْنَيِ الْكَبْشِ حِينَ دَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ فَنَسِيتُ أَنْ آمُرَكَ تُخَمِّرُهُمَا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي الْبَيْتِ مَا يَشْغَلُ مُصَلِّيًا

"إِنِّى رَأيْتُ قرْنَ الْكبْشِ حِينَ دَخْلتُ الْبَيْتَ فنَسِيتُ أَن آمُرك تُخَمرِّهُمَا فإِنَّهُ لا يَنْبَغِى أَنْ يَكُونَ فِى الْبَيْتَ مَا يَشْغل مُصَليًّا".
