[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a man who struggles with this village in battles. So may I be allowed to seek privacy and abstain (from others)?" He (the Prophet) said, "No, but you, O son of Mazh'un, should take up fasting, for it is a shield."

الطبراني:٨٣٢٠ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَعَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ قُدَامَةَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ عَنْ أَبِيهَا عَنْ أَخِيهِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي رَجُلٌ تَشُقُّ عَلَيَّ هَذِهِ الْعُزْبَةُ فِي الْمَغَازِي فَتَأْذَنُ لِي فِي الِاخْتِصَاءِ فَأَخْتَصِي؟ قَالَ «لَا وَلَكِنْ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ مَظْعُونٍ بِالصِّيَامِ فَإِنَّهُ مَجْفَرَةٌ»

"عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بنْتِ قُدَامَةَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهَا عَنْ أَخِيهِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ الله إِنِّى رَجُلٌ يَشُقُّ عَلَىَّ هَذِهِ الْغربَةُ في المَغَازى، أَفَتَأذَنُ لِى في الْخِصَاءِ فَأَخْتَصِى؟ فَقَالَ: لا، عَلَيْكَ يَابْنَ مَظْعُونٍ بِالصِّيامِ فَإِنَّهُ مَجْفَرَةٌ".
