[Machine] I was a companion of the Prophet ﷺ and he said, "Do you have any poetry with you?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Then recite something for me." So I recited a couplet for him, then I remained silent. He said, "Yes?" So I recited another couplet for him, then I remained silent. He said, "Yes?" So I recited another couplet for him, and I continued to recite a hundred couplets for him, then I remained silent and he also remained silent.  

الطبراني:٧٢٣٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كُنْتُ رَدِيفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «هَلْ مَعَكَ مِنْ شِعْرٍ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَأَنْشِدْنِي شَيْئًا» فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا ثُمَّ سَكَتُّ قَالَ «إِيهِ» فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا ثُمَّ سَكَتُّ قَالَ «إِيهِ» فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا حَتَّى أَنْشَدْتُهُ مِائَةً ثُمَّ سَكَتُّ وَسَكَتَ

[Machine] I was sitting close to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he asked me, "Do you have any knowledge of the poetry of Umayyah ibn Abi as-Salt?" I replied, "Yes." He then said, "Recite some for me." I recited a verse for him, and he continued to say to me, "Recite more," every time I recited for him, until I recited a hundred verses. Then the Prophet ﷺ fell silent, and I remained silent as well.  

أحمد:١٩٤٦٧ – حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الشَّرِيدِ يَقُولُ قَالَ

الشَّرِيدُ كُنْتُ رِدْفًا لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِي أَمَعَكَ مِنْ شِعْرِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ شَيْءٌ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَنْشِدْنِي فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَقُولُ لِي كُلَّمَا أَنْشَدْتُهُ إِيهِ حَتَّى أَنْشَدْتُهُ مِائَةَ بَيْتٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺوَسَكَتُّ
