"Messenger of Allah would pray four (Rak'ah) after the Zawal of the sun before Az-Zuhr. He said: 'It is an hour in which the gates of the heavens are opened, and I love that a righteous deed should be raised up for me in it.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا بَعْدَ أَنْ تَزُولَ الشَّمْسُ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَقَالَ إِنَّهَا سَاعَةٌ تُفْتَحُ فِيهَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ وَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يَصْعَدَ لِي فِيهَا عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَأَبِي أَيُّوبَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray four units before noon after midday and would say, "Verily, the gates of heaven are opened, and I prefer to present a good deed in them."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ بَعْدَ الزَّوَالِ أَرْبَعًا وَيَقُولُ إِنَّ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ تُفْتَحُ فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ أُقَدِّمَ فِيهَا عَمَلًا صَالِحًا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform four units of prayer at the time of mid-afternoon. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what are these prayers that I see you consistently perform?" He replied, "Indeed, the gates of heaven are opened at the time of mid-afternoon, so do not miss them until Dhuhr (noon) prayer is performed. I love for it to be my ascension towards goodness." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, do you recite anything specific in these prayers?" He said, "Yes." I then asked, "Do you send prayers upon the Prophet in them?" He replied, "No."

أَدْمَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا هَذِهِ الرَّكَعَاتُ الَّتِي أَرَاكَ قَدْ أَدْمَنْتَهَا قَالَ إِنَّ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ تُفْتَحُ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ فَلَا تُرْتَجُ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى الظُّهْرُ فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يَصْعَدَ لِي فِيهَا خَيْرٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تَقْرَأُ فِيهِنَّكُلِّهِنَّ؟ قَالَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَفِيهَا سَلَامٌ فَاصِلٌ؟ قَالَ لَا

[AI] "He used to pray four units before noon. It was said to him, 'Indeed, you persist in this prayer.' He said, 'Verily, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing it, so I asked him and he said, 'Indeed, during this hour, the gates of heaven are opened, and I love for an righteous deed of mine to ascend in it.'"

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُدِيمُ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا سَاعَةٌ تُفْتَحُ فِيهَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ يَرْتَفِعَ لِي فِيهَا عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray four units of prayer before Dhuhr (midday prayer). It was said to him, "Indeed, you pray a long prayer." He replied, "Indeed, the doors of the heavens are opened when the sun sets, so I do not want to delay until after Dhuhr prayer. I prefer to ascend to the heavens."

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ أَرْبَعًا فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُصَلِّي صَلَاةً تُدِيمُهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ تُفْتَحُ إِذَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَلَا تُرْتَجُ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى الظُّهْرُ فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يَصْعَدَ لِي إِلَى السَّمَاءِ خَيْرٌ

[AI] From Abu Ayoub Al-Ansari, in the four prayers before noon, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is this prayer that you observe when the sun is about to set?" He said, "O Abu Ayoub, indeed the gates of heaven are opened when the sun sets, so do not close the gates of heaven until the noon prayer is performed." I asked, "Does he recite in them?" He said, "Yes." I asked, "Does he make a separation between them with peace?" He said, "No."

عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ فِي الْأَرْبَعِ الَّتِي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ الَّتِي أَدَمْتَ حِينَ تَزُولُ الشَّمْسُ؟ قَالَ «يَا أَبَا أَيُّوبَ إِنَّ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ تُفْتَحُ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ فَلَا تَرْتَجُّ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاوَاتِ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى الظُّهْرُ» قَالَ يَقْرَأُ فِيهِنَّ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قَالَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُنَّ بِسَلَامٍ؟ قَالَ «لَا»

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ أَرْبَعًا فَقِيلَ لَهُ؟ فَقَالَ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّيهَا فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا سَاعَةٌ تُفْتَحُ فِيهَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْتَفِعَ لِي فِيهَا عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ»

"عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بنِ السَّائِبِ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّى إِذَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُنَّ فَصْلٌ بِتَسْلِيمٍ، فَسُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّهَا سَاعَةٌ تُفْتَحُ فِيهَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ، فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يَصْعَدَ لِى فِيهَا عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ".

"عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُدْمِنُ أَرْبعًا عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: يَا رَسُولَ الله: إِنَّكَ تُدْمِنُ هَذِهِ الأَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ تُفْتَحُ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ، فَلَا تَرْتَجُّ حَتَّى يُصَلَّي الظُّهْرُ، فَأحِبُّ أَنْ يَصْعَدَ لِيَ فيِ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ خَيْرٌ. قُلْتُ: أَفِي كُلِّهِنَّ قِرَاءَةٌ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: أَفِيهِنَّ تَسْلِيمٌ فَاصِلٌ؟ قَالَ: لَا".

"عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَيَقُولُ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يُصَلِّيهِنَّ حَتَّى تَزُولَ الشَّمْسُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا نَبِيَّ الله: أَرَاكَ تُدِيمُ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّهَا سَاعَةٌ تُفْتَحُ فِيهَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ، فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يُرْفَعَ ليِ فِيهَا عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ".
