الطبراني:٣٢١ – حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبَايَةَ بْنَ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ قَالَ §بَلَغَ عُمَرَ أَنَّ سَعْدًا اتَّخَذَ بَابًا ثُمَّ قَالَ انْقَطَعَ الصُّوَيْتُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ عُمَرُ ؓ فَحَرَّقَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بِيَدِهِ فَأَخْرَجَهُ

وَقَالَ هَهُنَا اجْلِسْ لِلنَّاسِ فَاعْتَذَرَ إِلَيْهِ سَعْدٌ وَحَلَفَ مَا تَكَلَّمَ بِالْكَلِمَةِ الَّتِي بَلَغَتْ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
