[Machine] I turned away from him, and he was still hidden from my view. Then, I felt a strong desire to look at him, so I turned back and saw him being prepared for battle with swords. I said, "By Allah, I have never seen anyone with such injuries before." He asked, "And have you seen this?" I replied, "Yes." He said, "By Allah, none of these wounds are received except in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and in the cause of Allah."  

الطبراني:٢٢٩ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا سِكِّينُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْمَوْصِلِ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ الزُّبَيْرَ بْنَ الْعَوَّامِ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ فَأَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ بِأَرْضٍ قَفْرٍ فَقَالَ

اسْتُرْنِي فَسَتَرْتُهُ فَحَانَتْ مِنِّي الْتِفَاتَةٌ إِلَيْهِ فَرَأَيْتُهُ مُجَدَّعًا بِالسُّيُوفِ قُلْتُ وَاللهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ بِكَ آثَارًا مَا رَأَيْتُهَا بِأَحَدٍ قَطُّ قَالَ وَقَدْ رَأَيْتَ ذَلِكَ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَمَا وَاللهِ مَا مِنْهَا جِرَاحَةٌ إِلَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ﷻ»

[Machine] "I covered him (or her) when he (or she) asked to be covered, then I turned my attention towards him (or her) and saw him (or her) covered in wounds from swords. I said, 'By Allah, I have never seen such wounds on anyone before.' He (or she) asked, 'And have you seen that?' I replied, 'By Allah, there is no wound except for one incurred by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the cause of Allah.' Al-Dhahabi remained silent about this incident in his summary."

"عَنْ حَفْصِ بنِ خَالَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِى شَيْخٌ قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا مِن المُوصِلِ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ الزُّبَيرَ بْنَ العَوَّامِ فِى بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ، فَأَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ بأَرْضٍ قَفْرٍ، فَقَالَ: اسْتُرْنِى فَسَتَرْتُه فَحَانَتْ منِّى إلَيْهِ الْتِفَاتَةٌ، فَرَأَيْتُهُ مُجَدَّعًا بالسَّيْفِ، قُلتُ: وَالله لَقَدْ رَأيْتُ بكَ آثارًا مَا رَأَيْتُها بِأَحدٍ قَطُّ، قَالَ: وَقَدْ رَأَيْتَ ذَلكَ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ قال: وَالله مَا مِنْهَا جِرَاحَةٌ إلَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ وَفِى سَبِيلِ الله".
