tabarani:16987 – Muḥammad b. ʿAmr b. Khālid al-Ḥarrānī from my father > Ismāʿīl b. ʿAyyāsh > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār > Abū Ḥarīz a freed slave of Muʿāwiyah

[Machine] Muawiyah addressed the people and mentioned in his speech that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade seven things, and I inform you of them and prohibit you from them: idol worship, poetry, images, excessive adornment, animal skins, gold, and silk.  

الطبراني:١٦٩٨٧ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ مَوْلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ

خَطَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ النَّاسَ فَذَكَرَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حَرَّمَ سَبْعَةَ أَشْيَاءٍ وَإِنِّي أُبْلِغُكُمْ ذَلِكَ وَأَنْهَاكُمُ عَنْهُ مِنْهُنَّ النَّوْحُ وَالشَّعْرُ وَالتَّصَاوِيرُ وَالتَّبَرُّجُ وَجُلُودُ السِّبَاعِ وَالذَّهَبُ وَالْحَرِيرُ

[Machine] The people gathered and Muawiyah delivered a speech in Hims. In his speech, he mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited seven things. I will now inform you of these seven things and prohibit you from indulging in them. These things are: wailing, poetry, images/statues, excessive adornment/display, the skins of predatory animals, gold, and silk.
