[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "No Muslim is afflicted with harm to his body except that it serves as an expiation for his sins." And this is the severest form of harm.  

الطبراني:١٦٩٥٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْواَدِعِيُّ الْقَاضِي ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ يَعِيشَ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَبِظَهْرِهِ قَرْحَةٌ وَهُوَ يَتَأَوَّهُ مِنْهَا تَأَوُّهًا شَدِيدًا فَقُلْتُ أَكُلُّ هَذَا مِنْ هَذِهِ؟ فَقَالَ مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّ هَذَا التَّأَوُّهَ لَمْ يَكُنْ ثُمَّ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يُصِيبُهُ أَذًى فِي جَسَدِهِ إِلَّا كَانَ كَفَّارَةً لِخَطَايَاهُ» وَهَذَا أَشَدُّ الْأَذَى
