Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi narrated from Abdullah ibn Abd al-Hakam, who narrated from Malik, that Ibn Shihab narrated from Humaid ibn Abd al-Rahman that he heard Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan in the year of Hajj while he was on the pulpit and he recited a poem that was in the hand of Harasi. He said, "O people of Madinah, where are your scholars? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding such things and saying, 'Indeed, the Children of Israel were destroyed when their women engaged in these practices.'"
