[Machine] I accompanied Mu'awiya ibn Abi Sufyan in a campaign in the land of Rome. He had a hole in his saddle, so he called out, "O slaves of Allah, O Muslim men!" Mu'awiya was the first to respond, and then the rest of the people responded. They said, "It is enough for the prince," but he said, "No, I have been informed that he (Gabriel) is the first to respond to those in need, so I wanted to be the second."  

الطبراني:١٦٧٩٨حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْبُخَارِيُّ ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا ثَابِتٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي سُفْيَانَ قَالَ

غَزَوْتُ مَعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ أَرْضَ الرُّومِ فَوَقَعَ ثَلْبٌ فِي رَحْلِهِ فَنَادَى يَا عِبَادَ اللهِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَجَابَ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَنَزَلَ وَنَزَلَ النَّاسُ فَقَالُوا نَكْفِي الْأَمِيرَ فَقَالَ «§أَلَا إِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُغِيثُ جِبْرِيلُ فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ الثَّانِي»

الزهد لأحمد:١٥٢٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمِنْهَالُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عِيسَى عَنْ عُقْبَةَ الرَّاسِبِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ فَوَافَيْتُهُ يَتَغَذَّى خُبْرًا وَلَحْمًا فَقَالَ هَلُمَّ إِلَى طَعَامِ الْأَحْرَارِ فَقُلْتُ أَكَلْتُ لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ آكُلَ فَقَالَ «سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَيَأْكُلُ الْمُسْلِمُ حَتَّى لَا يَسْتَطِيعَ
