"We were with the Prophet ﷺ, and we were strong youths, so we learned faith before we learned Qur'an. Then we learned Qur'an and our faith increased thereby." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 61)   

الطبراني:١٦٧٨ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ثنا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ نَجِيحٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ ثنا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ نَجِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ

«كُنَّا مَعَ نَبِيِّنَا ﷺ فِتْيَانًا حَزَاوِرَةَ فَتَعَلَّمْنَا الْإِيمَانَ قَبْلَ أَنْ نَتَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ثُمَّ تَعَلَّمْنَا الْقُرْآنَ فَنَزْدَادُ بِهِ إِيمَانًا فَإِنَّكُمُ الْيَوْمَ تَعَلَّمُونَ الْقُرْآنَ قَبْلَ الْإِيمَانِ»

[Machine] We were young boys studying with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , learning faith before the Quran. Then he taught us the Quran, and our faith increased through it. And today, you are learning the Quran before faith.
