أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ

[Machine] I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he was talking to us about trials when a masked man passed by and said, "On this day, he and his companions are on the right path." So, I stood up and followed him, then I removed the mask from his head and it was revealed to be Uthman ibn Affan. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is this him?" He ﷺ said, "Yes."  

الطبراني:١٦٤٧٣حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ السَّكَنِ ثنا أَبُو قَحْذَمَ عَنْ أبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أبِي الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَة قَالَ

كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُنَا عَنِ الْفِتَنِ فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ مُقَنَّعٌ فَقَالَ «هَذَا يَوْمَئِذٍ وَأَصْحَابُهُ عَلَى الْهُدَى» فَقُمْتُ فَلَحِقْتُهُ فَكَشَفْتُ الْقِنَاعَ عَنْ رَأْسِهِ فَإِذَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»

[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he mentioned a trial and drew it near. Then a man passed by wearing a turban, and he said, "This person today is upon guidance." He (the Prophet) said, "So I followed him until I held onto his two fingers, and I turned his face towards me and revealed his head, and I said, 'Is this you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'Yes, indeed, this is 'Uthman ibn 'Affan.'"  

أحمد:١٨١٢٩حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ قَالَ

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ فِتْنَةً فَقَرَّبَهَا فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ مُتَقَنِّعٌ فَقَالَ هَذَا يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى الْهُدَى قَالَ فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ حَتَّى أَخَذْتُ بِضَبْعَيْهِ فَحَوَّلْتُ وَجْهَهُ إِلَيْهِ وَكَشَفْتُ عَنْ رَأْسِهِ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ

[Machine] "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioning a trial that would cause poverty. Then, a masked man dressed in a garment passed by him. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'This person today is on the right guidance.' I approached him and behold, it was Uthman ibn Affan. I turned towards him and asked, 'Is it you?' He replied, 'Yes.'"  

الحاكم:٤٥٥٢حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْبَجَلِيُّ ثنا عَفَّانُ ثنا وُهَيْبٌ ثنا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ مُرَّةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَذْكُرُ فِتْنَةً فَقَرَّ بِهَا فَمَرَّ بِهِ رَجُلٌ مُقَنَّعٌ فِي ثَوْبٍ فَقَالَ «هَذَا يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى الْهُدَى» فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ فَأَقْبَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ بِوَجْهِهِ فَقُلْتُ هُوَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم
