[Machine] Two men came to the Prophet ﷺ , one of them was from the Ansar and the other was from Thaqif. The Ansari man arrived before the Thaqifi man, so the Prophet ﷺ said to the Thaqifi man, "O brother of Thaqif, the Ansari man preceded you." The Ansari man said, "I will always precede you, O Messenger of Allah." So the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "O brother of Thaqif, ask about your need, and if you wish, I will inform you about what you came to ask." The man said, "That is more astonishing to me, that you ask me about your prayer, your bowing, your prostration, your fasting, and you say, 'What do I have in it?'." He said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, pray the first and last part of the night and sleep the middle part." He said, "If you pray the middle part, then you are doing well." He said, "When you stand up for prayer, place your hands on your knees and spread your fingers, then raise your head until every joint returns to its place. And when you prostrate, place your forehead on the ground and do not peck like a crow. And fast on the white nights, thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen (of the lunar month)." Then he turned to the Ansari man and said, "Ask about your need, and if you wish, I will inform you." He said, "That is more astonishing to me. You came to ask me about leaving your house to come to the Kaaba, and you say, 'What do I have in it?' And you came to ask about standing at Arafat, and you say, 'What do I have in it?' And you came to ask about throwing the pebbles, and you say, 'What do I have in it?' And you came to ask about circumambulating the Kaaba, and you say, 'What do I have in it?' And you came to ask about shaving your head, and you say, 'What do I have in it?'." He said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, as for your leaving your house to come to the Kaaba, for every step you take, Allah will write for you a good deed and erase from you a bad deed. And as for your standing at Arafat, Allah descends to the lowest heaven and boasts to the angels about them, saying, 'These are My servants who have come to Me, disheveled and covered in dust, from every deep valley, hoping for My mercy and fearing My punishment, and they have not seen Me. So how would it be if they had seen Me? And if your sins were equivalent to the grains of sand on the earth or the days of the world, or the drops of rain from the sky, Allah will wash them away from you. And as for your throwing of the pebbles, it will remain for you. And as for shaving your head, for every hair you cut, you will receive a reward. So when you walk around the Kaaba, you will come out from your sins as on the day your mother gave birth to you."

[Machine] A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, there are certain things I wish to ask you about." The Prophet replied, "Sit." Then, a man from Thaqif came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, there are certain things I wish to ask you about." The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Ansari has preceded you." The Ansari man said, "He is a stranger and a stranger has rights. Begin with him." So, the Prophet turned towards the man and said, "If you want, I can answer the questions you came to ask, or if you prefer, you can ask me and I will inform you." The man replied, "O Messenger of Allah, rather answer me regarding the questions I came to ask." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You came to ask me about the acts of bowing, prostrating, praying, and fasting." The man said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I have not made any mistakes regarding these acts." The Prophet ﷺ said, "When you bow, place your hands on your knees, then separate your fingers. Remain in that position until each limb takes its appropriate posture. And when you prostrate, place your forehead firmly on the ground and do not peck like a rooster. Perform the prayer at the beginning and end of the day." The man asked, "O Prophet of Allah, what if I perform the prayer in between?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Then you will be considered as one who prays. And fast for thirteen, fourteen, or fifteen days in every month." The Thaqifi man then stood up and approached the Ansari man, saying, "If you want, I can inform you about what you came to ask, or if you prefer, you can ask me and I will inform you." The Ansari man said, "No, O Prophet of Allah, inform me about what I came to ask you." The Prophet said, "You came to inquire about the rights of the pilgrim when he leaves his home, stands at Arafat, throws stones, shaves or trims his hair, and completes the final circumambulation of the Kaaba." The man replied, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I have not made any mistakes regarding these matters." The Prophet ﷺ said, "When he leaves his home, every step taken by his mount will be recorded as a good deed or a sin. And when he stands at Arafat, Allah, the Exalted, descends to the lowest heaven and says, 'Look at my servants, how unkempt and dusty they are. Bear witness that I have forgiven them their sins, even if they were as numerous as the drops of rain and sand on the ground.' And when he throws the stones, no one knows its reward until the Day of Judgment. And when he shaves his head, for every hair that falls, a light will be created on the Day of Judgment. And when he completes the final circumambulation of the Kaaba, he will be free of his sins, just as he was on the day he was born."
