[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I want to participate in battle for the sake of Allah." He replied, "You should go to Sham (Syria), as Allah has granted me provision and protection for it. Stay in Azraq in Sham, as when calamities afflict my ummah (community), its people will be in goodness and well-being."  

الطبراني:١١١٤٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبي السَّرِيِّ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ الْمَدِينِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْغَزْوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَدْ تَكَفَّلَ لِي بِالشَّامِ وَأَهْلِهِ وَالْزَمْ مِنَ الشَّامِ عَسْقَلَانَ فَإِنَّهَا إِذَا دَارَتِ الرَّحَا فِي أُمَّتِي كَانَ أَهْلُهَا فِي خَيْرٍ وَعَافِيَةٍ»
