Abu Humaid brought a cup of mix from a place called Al-Naqi. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Will you not cover it, even by placing a stick across its"

جَاءَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ مِنَ النَّقِيعِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَلاَّ خَمَّرْتَهُ وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضَ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا

Abu Humaid, an Ansari man, came from AnNaqi carrying a cup of milk to the Prophet. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Will you not cover it even by placing a stick across it?"

جَاءَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ مِنَ النَّقِيعِ بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَلاَّ خَمَّرْتَهُ وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضَ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِهَذَا

I came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a cup of milk from Naqi' which had no cover over it, whereupon he said: Why did you not cover it? - even if you had covered it only with a stick. Abu Humaid said that he had been ordered that waterskins be tied during the night, and the doors be closed during the night.

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ مِنَ النَّقِيعِ لَيْسَ مُخَمَّرًا فَقَالَ أَلاَّ خَمَّرْتَهُ وَلَوْ تَعْرُضُ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا قَالَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ إِنَّمَا أُمِرَ بِالأَسْقِيَةِ أَنْ تُوكَأَ لَيْلاً وَبِالأَبْوَابِ أَنْ تُغْلَقَ لَيْلاً

Why did you not cover it even with a wood across it?

يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ مِنَ النَّقِيعِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَلاَّ خَمَّرْتَهُ وَلَوْ تَعْرُضُ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا

[AI] Abu Humaid Al-Ansari came with a container of milk to the Prophet ﷺ during the day when he was in Al-Baqi. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Shouldn't you cover it, even if you do so with a stick?"

جَاءَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ نَهَارًا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَلَا خَمَّرْتَهُ وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضَ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا

[AI] Abu Humaid Al-Ansari came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a cup containing milk, which was uncovered. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Why didn't you cover it, even if it was with a stick to protect it from dust?"

جَاءَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِقَدَحٍ فِيهِ لَبَنٌ يَحْمِلُهُ مَكْشُوفًا فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَلَا كُنْتَ خَمَّرْتَهُ وَلَوْ بِعُودٍ تَعْرِضُهُ عَلَيْهِ

[AI] Abu Humaid Al-Saadi came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a container of milk in a pot. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Why don't you strain it? Even if you pass a stick over it."

جَاءَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِلَبَنٍ فِي قَدَحٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا خَمَّرْتَهُ؟ وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرِضَ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا»
