"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us and said: 'One thing does not infect another.' So a Bedouin said: 'O Messenger of Allah! If a camel gets mangy glands and we leave it at the resting place of camels, then all of the camels get mange?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Who caused the first to get mange? There is no 'Adwa nor safar. Allah created every soul, so he wrote its life, its provision, and its afflictions.'" Note: The majority of scholars interpret this to mean that these things in and of themselves do not transmit or cause harm through supernatural or hidden means but that Allah is ultimately in control and any fearful superstition around these is false.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم stood among us and said, "Nothing happens due to predestined measures, meaning, nothing one does, nor any sickness, nor any relief, nor any loss, except that it has been pre-destined by Allah, and Allah has recorded the measurement of that for every creation. The Bedouin stood up and said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Does taking precautions benefit in anyway against the disease, or is it merely a means of earning livelihood?' The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم replied, 'What has ever been written is decreed and nothing can change it, except du'a (supplication). No sickness shall befall except with Allah's leave. Therefore, seek Allah's protection from it, but do not expose yourself unnecessarily to it."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Nothing passes by chance, nothing passes by chance." He said this three times. Then an Arab man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, sometimes a camel's hump is infected and it affects the whole herd." The Prophet ﷺ remained silent for a while, then he said, "The first statement was not our doing, there is no contagion, no owl, and no bad omen. Allah created every soul and recorded its lifespan, its death, its afflictions, and its sustenance."
