There was a dispute between the Hell and the Paradise and it (the Hell) said: The haughty and the proud would find abode in me. And the Paradise said: The meek and the humble would find their abode in me. Thereupon Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, (addressing the Hell) said: You are (the means) of My punishment by which I punish those of My servants whom I wish. (And addressing the Paradise) He said: You are only My Mercy by means of which 1 shall show mercy to those whom I wish, but each one of you would be full.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ احْتَجَّتِ النَّارُ وَالْجَنَّةُ فَقَالَتْ هَذِهِ يَدْخُلُنِي الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ وَقَالَتْ هَذِهِ يَدْخُلُنِي الضُّعَفَاءُ وَالْمَسَاكِينُ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ ﷻ لِهَذِهِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُعَذِّبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَقَالَ لِهَذِهِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أَرْحَمُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُمَا مِلْؤُهَا

"Paradise and the Fire debated. Paradise said: 'The weak and the poor shall enter me,' and the Fire said: 'The tyrants and the proud shall enter me.' So He said to the Fire: 'You are My Punishment, I take vengeance through you from whom I will,' and He said to Paradise: 'You are My Mercy I show mercy through you to whom I will.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ احْتَجَّتِ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتِ الْجَنَّةُ يَدْخُلُنِي الضُّعَفَاءُ وَالْمَسَاكِينُ وَقَالَتِ النَّارُ يَدْخُلُنِي الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ فَقَالَ لِلنَّارِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أَنْتَقِمُ بِكِ مِمَّنْ شِئْتُ وَقَالَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أَرْحَمُ بِكِ مَنْ شِئْتُ

"Paradise and the Fire debated. Paradise said: 'The weak and the poor shall enter me,' and the Fire said: 'The tyrants and the proud shall enter me.' So He said to the Fire: 'You are My Punishment, I take vengeance through you from whom I will,' and He said to Paradise: 'You are My Mercy I show mercy through you to whom I will.'" رَسُولُ ﷺ احْتَجَّتِ النَّارُ وَالْجَنَّةُ فَقَالَتِ النَّارُ يَدْخُلُنِي الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ وَقَالَتِالْجَنَّةُ يَدْخُلُنِي الضُّعَفَاءُ وَالْمَسَاكِينُ فَقَالَ اللهُ ﷻ لِلنَّارِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أَنْتَقِمُ بِكِ مِمَّنْ شِئْتُ وَقَالَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أَرْحَمُ بِكِ مَنْ شِئْتُ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: Paradise and Hell began to argue. Paradise said, "O Lord, what is the matter with me that only the poor and humble enter me?" And Hell said, "O Lord, what is the matter with me that only the tyrants and arrogant enter me?" So Allah said to Hell, "You are My punishment. I will fill you with whomever I will." And He said to Paradise, "You are My mercy. I will fill you with whomever I will." And each of them will be filled. As for Paradise, Allah will create for it whatever He wills, and as for Hell, people will be thrown into it and it will say, "Is there any more?" until His foot is placed there, and at that point it will be full and parts of it will overlap with each other, and it will say, "Enough, enough, enough."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ احْتَجَّتْ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتِ الْجَنَّةُ يَا رَبِّ مَا لِي لَا يَدْخُلُنِي إِلَّا فُقَرَاءُ النَّاسِ وَسَقَطُهُمْ؟ وَقَالَتِ النَّارُ يَا رَبِّ مَا لِي لَا يَدْخُلُنِي إِلَّا الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ؟ فَقَالَ لِلنَّارِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَقَالَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُمَا مِلْؤُهَا فَأَمَّا الْجَنَّةُ فَإِنَّ اللهَ يُنْشِئُ لَهَا مَا يَشَاءُ وَأَمَّا النَّارُ فَيُلْقَوْنَ فِيهَا وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ؟ حَتَّى يَضَعَ قَدَمَهُ فِيهَا فَهُنَالِكَ تَمْتَلِئُ وَيُزْوَى بَعْضُهَا إِلَى بَعْضٍ وَتَقُولُ قَطْ قَطْ قَطْ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Paradise and Hellfire disputed among themselves. Hellfire said, 'I shall be inhabited by the arrogant, tyrannical, and the nobles.' Paradise said, 'I shall be inhabited by the poor and the needy.' Allah (Glory be to Him) said to Hellfire, 'You are My punishment, and I shall fill you with whoever I will.' And He said to Paradise, 'You are My mercy, and you are spacious enough to accommodate everything. Each one of you will be filled.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «افْتَخَرَتِ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتِ النَّارُ يَدْخُلُنِي الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُلُوكُ وَالْأَشْرَافُ وَقَالَتِ الْجَنَّةُ يَدْخُلُنِي الْفُقَرَاءُ وَالْمَسَاكِينُ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا لِلنَّارِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَقَالَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي وَسِعْتِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُمَا مِلْؤُهَا»

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet, ﷺ , he said, "Paradise and Hell disputed with one another. Hell said, 'I shall be filled with the proud and the tyrants.' Paradise said, 'I shall be filled with the weak and oppressed people.' Allah said to Hell, 'Indeed, you are My punishment, and I will fill you with whomever I wish.' And He said to Paradise, 'Indeed, you are My mercy, and I will fill you with whomever I wish. And each of you shall be filled to the full extent.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «اخْتَصَمَتِ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتِ النَّارُ يَدْخُلُنِي الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ وَقَالَتِ الْجَنَّةُ يَدْخُلُنِي ضُعَفَاءُ النَّاسِ وَأَسْقَاطُهُمْ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ لِلنَّارِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَقَالَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُمَا مِلْؤُهَا»

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Paradise and Hell argued with each other. Paradise said, 'Why do the weak and poor enter me?' Hell said, 'Why do the arrogant and tyrants enter me?' Allah said, 'You, O Paradise, are My mercy, and I show mercy to whomever I will. And you, O Hell, are My punishment, and I inflict punishment upon whomever I will. And each of you will be filled.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «احْتَجَّتِ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتِ الْجَنَّةُ مَا بَالِي يَدْخُلُنِي الْفُقَرَاءُ وَالضُّعَفَاءُ؟ وَقَالَتِ النَّارُ مَا بَالِي يَدْخُلُنِي الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ؟ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أَرْحَمُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَقَالَ لِلنَّارِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ مِلْؤُهَا»
