"إِنَّ أحَدَكُمْ ليُسْألُ يوْمَ القيامَةِ حتى يكونَ فيما يُسألُ عنه أن يُقَالَ:
ما منعك أن تُنكر المُنْكَرَ إِذا رَأَيْتَه؟ فَمَن لقَّاه اللَّهُ ﷻ حُجَّته. قالَ: ربِّ رَجَوْتُك وخِفْتُ الناسَ".
"إِنَّ أحَدَكُمْ ليُسْألُ يوْمَ القيامَةِ حتى يكونَ فيما يُسألُ عنه أن يُقَالَ:

“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Allah will question His slave on the Day of Resurrection, until He says: “What kept you from denouncing evil when you saw it?” When Allah grants His slave a response, he will say: “O Lord, I hoped for Your mercy but I feared the people.”
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى يَقُولَ مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذْ رَأَيْتَ الْمُنْكَرَ أَنْ تُنْكِرَهُ فَإِذَا لَقَّنَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا حُجَّتَهُ قَالَ يَا رَبِّ رَجَوْتُكَ وَفَرِقْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, one of you will be asked on the Day of Judgment, until he is questioned about what prevented him from forbidding the evil when he saw it. He will say: 'O Lord, I had hoped for You and I feared the people."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لَيَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى يَقُولَ مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذْ رَأَيْتَ الْمُنْكَرَ تُنْكِرُهُ فَإِذَا لَقَّى الله عَبْدًا حُجَّتَهُ قَالَ يَا رَبِّ وَثِقْتُ بِكَ وَفَرِقْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Verily, Allah will question His servant on the Day of Resurrection to the extent that He will ask him, 'O My servant, did you see such-and-such evil and did not denounce it?' So, if Allah finds His servant failing in this, He will strengthen his argument against him and the servant will say, 'O Lord, I trusted in You and feared people.'"
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ لَيَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى إِنَّهُ لَيَسْأَلُهُ يَقُولُ أَيْ عَبْدِي رَأَيْتَ مُنْكَرًا فَلَمْ تُنْكِرْهُ فَإِذَا لَقَّنَ اللهُ عَبْدًا حُجَّتَهُ قَالَ يَا رَبِّ وَثِقْتُ بِكَ وَخِفْتُ النَّاسَ
[AI] "It was narrated that during the day, my servant, who was residing in the Banu Najjar, mentioned that he heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri saying that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Verily, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, will not ask His servant on the Day of Resurrection, until He says to him: What prevented you, when you saw an evil act, from forbidding it? Then He will instruct the servant with his argument, saying: O Lord, I relied on You, and I separated myself from the people or I separated myself from the people and relied on You.'"
أَنَّ نَهَارًا الْعَبْدِيَّ وَكَانَ سَاكِنًا فِي بَنِي النَّجَّارِ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَلَّ وَعَلَا يَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى إِنَّهُ لَيَقُولُ لَهُ مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْمُنْكَرَ أَنْ تُنْكِرَهُ؟ فَإِذَا لَقَّنَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا حَجَّتَهُ يَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ وَثِقْتُ بِكَ وَفَرِقْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ أَوْ فَرِقْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَوَثِقْتُ بِكَ»
