"عَنْ يَعْلَى بْن سَيَابَةَ أنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ مَرَّ بِقَبْر يُعَذَّبُ فِى غَيْر كَبِير، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِجَرِيَدِةٍ فَوَضَعَهَا عَلَى قَبْرهِ فَقَالَ: لَعَلهُ يُخَففُ عَنْهُ مَا كَانَتْ رَطبَةً".  

[ق] البيهقى في السنن في كتاب عذاب القبر

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by a grave and said, "Indeed, the owner of this grave is being punished in a lesser form of torment." Then he called for a leaf and placed it on the grave, saying, "Perhaps it will alleviate his punishment as long as it remains moist."
