TABARANI 7259:
from ʿAmr b. Rāfiʿ —
[Machine] That when Ash-Sharid was walking between Mina and the Shab in the Hajj of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: "When a camel behind me stumbled, I turned around and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recognizing me and he said, 'Ash-Sharid?' I replied, 'Yes.' He said, 'Should I carry you behind me, O Ash-Sharid?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'I am not tired or weary, but I seek blessings in my riding with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' Then he said, 'O Ash-Sharid, do you have any poetry from Umayyah ibn Abi as-Salt?' I said, 'I relate to the people.' He said, 'Recite it for me.' So I recited for him. Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent, I remained silent, and whenever he said, 'Continue,' I continued until it lasted long. At that point, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'With Allah is the knowledge of Umayyah ibn Abi as-Salt.'"
