Collected by Bukhārī, Ibn Mājah, Aḥmad, Ḥākim, Ibn Ḥibbān, Ṭabarānī, Bayhaqī, SuyūṭīI went to the Prophet ﷺ during the Ghazwa of Tabuk while he was sitting in a leather tent. He said, "Count six signs that indicate the approach of the Hour: my death, the conquest of Jerusalem, a plague that will afflict you (and kill you in great numbers) as the plague that afflicts sheep, the increase of wealth to such an extent that even if one is given one hundred Dinars, he will not be satisfied; then an affliction which no Arab house will escape, and then a truce between you and Bani Al-Asfar (i.e. the Byzantines) who will betray you and attack you under eighty flags. Under each flag will be twelve thousand soldiers.

[AI] I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in Khebr, so I said, "May I enter?" He said, "Enter." I said, "Should I bring my food with me?" He said, "Eat all of it." When I sat down, he said, "Hold six pebbles that will be before the Hour, the first of them being the death of your Prophet." I then cried. He said, "There will be chaos and opening of Bayt al-Maqdis, and a tribulation will enter every home, tent, and even the money will overflow among you until a person is given a hundred dinars and he becomes displeased with it. There will be two deaths among the people like the death of a goat's eye. And there will be a truce between you and the Banu Asfar, but they will betray you and march towards you in eighty directions." And he said, "Beware! In sixty directions, beneath each one, there will be twelve thousand."

[AI] I heard Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja'i say, "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the battle of Tabuk, and he was in a dome made of adham (a type of red clay). He said to me, 'O Awf, prepare for six things before the end of time: My death, the conquest of Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), then two deaths that will afflict you like the deaths of sheep, then an abundance of wealth among you to the extent that a man will be given a hundred dinars and he will remain dissatisfied, then a fitnah (trial) in which no Arab household will be spared, then a truce between you and the Banu Asfar (Romans) that they will break and come to you under eighty flags, with each flag led by twelve thousand men. I (al-Awf) said, 'We remembered this hadith from a senior scholar of Madinah, whose name was Waleed ibn Muslim.' And he (Waleed) said, 'Then the conquest of Bayt al-Maqdis.' The sheikh (Awf) said, 'Sa'eed al-Maqburi informed me from Abu Hurairah that he used to narrate these six things from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and instead of saying 'the conquest of Bayt al-Maqdis,' he would say, 'the existence of Bayt al-Maqdis.'"

[AI] I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Tabuk campaign, and he was in a dome. I heard the sound of footsteps and he said, "Who is this?" I said, "Awf ibn Malik." He said, "Enter, O Awf." I said, "Shall I serve you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Yes." So I entered and I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing ablution with great care. He said, "O Awf, there are six things that will happen before the Day of Judgment. What do you think is the first among them?" I said, "One of them." So I remained silent at that time for a severe scolding. Then he said, "The conquest of Jerusalem." I said, "Two." So he scolded me again and said, "The wealth will overflow among you until a man is given a hundred dinars and he becomes upset." I said, "Three." So he scolded me again and said, "Then there will be two deaths sent upon you like the biting of a sheep." I said, "Four." He scolded me again and said, "Then there will be a trial that will emerge from among you, and it will not leave a single household of the Muslims untouched." I said, "Five." He scolded me again and said, "Then there will be a truce between you and the Romans, and they will betray you at the end of it, and they will come to you with an army led by a woman, and they will come to you with eighty banners, and under each banner, there will be eighty thousand soldiers."

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his privacy and said, "O Messenger of Allah, may I enter?" He said, "Enter." I said, "All of me?" He said, "Yes, all of you." He said, "Hold on to six things that will occur before the Hour: the death of your Prophet, then I wept. Then the opening of Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) and a fitnah (trial) that will enter every house made of hair and mud, and wealth will overflow among you to the extent that a man will be given one hundred dinars and will be displeased with it. And there will be two deaths among the people, like the deaths of sheep attacked by wolves. And there will be a truce between you and the Banu Asfar (Yellow people), then they will betray you and march against you with an army of eighty banners, under each banner will be twelve thousand soldiers."
[AI] I heard Awf ibn Malik al-Ashjai narrating that he said, "I visited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Battle of Tabuk, and he was in a dome made of adobe. He said to me, 'O Awf, prepare for six events before the Hour: my death, then the conquest of Jerusalem, then two deaths will occur among you like the death of two goats, then a wealthy overflow will occur among you until a man will be given a hundred dinars and still be discontented, then a severe turmoil will come upon you that will leave no Arab house unscathed, then there will be a peace treaty between you and the Banu Asfar (the Romans), but they will deceive you and attack you when your number reaches eighty thousand, with twelve thousand troops for each attack.' Al-Walid said, 'We remembered this Hadith from a scholar of Madinah when he mentioned the conquest of Jerusalem.' The scholar said, 'Sa'id informed me from Abu Hurairah that he used to narrate this Hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and say, "The place of the conquest of Jerusalem is Imran's House."'
I went to the Prophet ﷺ during the Ghazwa of Tabuk while he was sitting in a leather tent. (Using translation from Bukhārī 3176)
