"مَنْ رَأَيتُمُوه يُنْشِدُ شِعْرًا في المسْجد فَقُولُوا: فَضَّ اللهُ فَاكَ ثَلاثًا، وَمَن رَأَيتُمُوه يَنْشُد ضَالَّةً في المَسْجِد فَقُولُوا: لا وَجَدْتَهَا ثَلاثًا، وَمَن رَأَيتُمُوه يَبِيعُ أَوْ يَبْتَاعُ في المَسْجِد، فَقُولُوا: لا أَرْبَح اللهُ تِجَارَتَكَ".
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever among you sees someone reciting poetry in the mosque, say 'May Allah make you successful' three times. And whoever sees someone reciting something deviant in the mosque, say 'I have not found it' three times. And whoever sees someone buying or selling in the mosque, say 'May Allah not bless your business.' This is what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ يَنْشُدُ شِعْرًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا فَضَّ اللهُ فَاكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَمَنْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ يَنْشُدُ ضَالَّةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا لَا وَجَدْتَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَمَنْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ يَبِيعُ ويَبْتَاعُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا لَا أَرْبَحَ اللهُ تِجَارَتَكَ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When you see someone selling or buying in the Masjid then say: 'May Allah not profit your business.' And when you see someone announcing about something lost then say: 'May Allah not return it to you.'" The Hadith of Abu Hurairah is Hasan Gharib. This is acted upon according to some of the people of knowledge. They dislike selling and buying in the Masjid. This is the view of Ahmad and Ishaq. Some of the people of knowledge permitted selling and buying in the Masjid. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1321)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مَنْ يَبِيعُ أَوْ يَبْتَاعُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا لَا أَرْبَحَ اللهُ تِجَارَتَكَ وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مَنْ يُنْشِدُ ضَالَّةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا لَا رَدَّ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ
"عَنْ يَزِيدَ حضيفى (*)، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَنْ جَدِّه ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَنْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ يُنْشِدُ شِعْرًا فِى الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا: فَضَّ الله فَاكَ - ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ - وَمَنْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ يَنْشُدُ ضَالَّةً فِى الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا: لاَ وَجَدْتَهَا - ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ - وَمَنْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ يَبِيعُ وَيَبْتَاعُ في الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُولُوا: لاَ أَرْبَحَ الله تِجَارَتَكَ، كَذَلِكَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ الله ﷺ ".
