I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was wearing white clothes and sleeping. Then I went back to him again after he had got up from his sleep. He said, "Nobody says: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah' and then later on he dies while believing in that, except that he will enter Paradise." I said, "Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft?" He said. 'Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft." I said, "Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft?" He said. 'Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft." I said, 'Even it he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft?' He said, "Even if he had committed illegal sexual intercourse and theft, inspite of the Abu Dharr's dislike.

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ أَبْيَضُ وَهْوَ نَائِمٌ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ وَقَدِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَقَالَ: «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ قَالَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ مَاتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ۔» قُلْتُ: وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ: «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ۔» قُلْتُ: وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ: «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ۔» قُلْتُ: وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ: «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِ أَبِي ذَرٍّ۔» وَكَانَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ إِذَا حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا قَالَ: وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ۔

I came to the Apostle (may peace be upon him ) and he was asleep with a white mantle over him. I again came, he was still asleep, I came again and he had awakened. I sat by his side and (the Holy Prophet) observed: There is none among the bondsmen who affirmed his faith in La illaha ill-Allah there is no God but Allah) and died in this state and did not enter Paradise. I (Abu Dharr) said: Even if he committed adultery and theft? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: (Yes) even though he committed adultery and theft. I (again said): Even if he committed adultery and theft? He replied: (Yes) even though he committed adultery and theft. (Th Holy Prophet repeated it three times) and said for the fourth time: In defiance of Abu Dharr. Abu Dharr then went out and he repeated (these words): In defiance of Abu Dharr.

قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ أَبْيَضُ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ نَائِمٌ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ وَقَدِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ قَالَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ مَاتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was wearing a white garment. I found him asleep, so I came to him again and he was still asleep. Then I came to him and he had woken up, so I sat with him. He said, "There is no servant who says 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah' and then dies upon that except that he enters Paradise." I said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" I said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals," repeating it three times. Then he said, "And even if Abu Dharr's nose is irritated." Abu Dharr then went out, dragging his garment, saying, "Even if Abu Dharr's nose is irritated." Abu Dharr used to narrate this incident and say, "Even if Abu Dharr's nose is irritated."

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ أَبْيَضُ فَإِذَا هُوَ نَائِمٌ ثُمَّ أتيتُه فَإِذَا هُوَ نَائِمٌ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ وَقَدْ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ثُمَّ مَاتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إِلَّا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ فَكَانَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ يُحَدِّثُ بِهَذَا بَعْدُ وَيَقُولُ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُأَبِي ذَرٍّ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Whoever says, 'There is no god but Allah, alone, with no partner, will enter Paradise." I said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals." I said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals." I said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery and steals," while pointing at the nose of Abu Darda. I said, "So I went out to call people with this information." Umar met me and said, "Go back, for if people knew about this, they would rely on it." So I went back and informed him, and he, ﷺ , said, "Umar has spoken the truth."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ لِأُنَادِيَ بِهَا فِي النَّاسِ قَالَ فَلَقِيَنِي عُمَرُ فَقَالَ ارْجِعْ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ إِنْ عَلِمُوا بِهَذِهِ اتَّكَلُوا عَلَيْهَا فَرَجَعْتُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ﷺ فَقَالَ ﷺ صَدَقَ عُمَرُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me and said, "Call upon the people, whoever says, 'There is no deity except Allah', will enter Paradise."

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «نَادِ فِي النَّاسِ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ»

[AI] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever says, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah,' will enter Paradise." So I asked, "Even if he commits adultery or steals?" He replied, "Even if he commits adultery or steals."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ» فَقُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ»

قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ لِي جِبْرِيلُ إِنَّهُ مَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ لَمْ يَدْخُلِ النَّارَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زِنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ

حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ أَبْيَضُ فَإِذَا هُوَ نَائِمٌ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ وَقَدِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ مَاتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إِلَّا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قَالَ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ قَالَ فَقَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِ أَبِي ذَرٍّ فَخَرَجَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ فَكَانَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ يُحَدِّثُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَيُحَدِّثُ مَعَهُ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ وَهَذَا الْكَلَامُ قَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَأَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ اسْمُهُ ظَالِمُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُفْيَانَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ مَشْهُورٌ

“Whoever dies knowing that there is no God but Allah will enter Paradise.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 498)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Mu'adh!" I said, "Here I am at your service." He said, "Give glad tidings to the people that whoever says 'There is no god but Allah' will enter Paradise."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا مُعَاذُ» قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ قَالَ بَشِّرِ النَّاسَ أَنَّهُ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever says 'There is no god but Allah' will enter Paradise."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَالَ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger sincerely, will enter Paradise." I said, "Even if he commits adultery or steals, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery or steals." I said, "Even if he commits adultery or steals, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Even if he commits adultery or steals, and even if Abu Darda's nose is rubbed in the dust."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ مُخْلِصًا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ» قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ» قُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Abu Darda! Go and call anyone who testifies that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, for Paradise is obligatory for him.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, even if he commits adultery and steals?' He replied, 'Even if he commits adultery and steals.' I repeated my question three times, and he said, 'Even if he commits adultery and steals, and even if Abu Darda is displeased.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ اذْهَبْ فَنَادِ مَنْ شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ فَقَدْ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ» فَأَعَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَالَ «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ»

"لَقِيَتْ الْمَلكَ فأَخْبَرَنِى: أَنَّه مَنْ مَات يَشهده (أنْ لَا إِله إلا اللهُ) كَان لهُ الجنَّةُ، فَمَا زِلْتُ أقُولُ. وإِنْ، حتَّى قُلْتُ: وَإِنْ زنا وَإِنْ سَرَقَ، قال: وَإِنْ زنا وَإِنْ سَرَقَ".

"مَنْ قَال: لا إلهَ إِلا الله، دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَإِنْ زَنَا وَإنْ سَرَقَ".
