Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Name yourselves after me (by my name) but do not call (yourselves) by my Kuniya (1), for I am Al-Qasim (distributor), and I distribute among you Allah's blessings." This narration has also come on the authority of Anas that the ! Prophet said so."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَمُّوا بِاسْمِي وَلاَ تَكْتَنُوا بِكُنْيَتِي فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا قَاسِمٌ أَقْسِمُ بَيْنَكُمْ وَرَوَاهُ أَنَسٌ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ  

Give the name after my name, but do not give (the kunya of Abu'l-Qasim after my) kunya, for I am Abu'l-Qasim (in the sense) that I distribute amongst you (the spoils of war) and disseminate the knowledge (of revelation). This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr but with a slight variation of wording.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلاَ تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي فَإِنِّي أَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ أَقْسِمُ بَيْنَكُمْ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَلاَ تَكْتَنُوا  

"Abul Qasim ﷺ said: 'Call yourselves by my name but do not call yourselves by my Kunyah."  

أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلاَ تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي فَإِنِّي أَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ أَقْسِمُ بَيْنَكُمْ  

"أحسنتِ الأنصارُ، تسمَّوْا باسمى؛ ولا تكنوْا بكُنْيَتى، فإنما بُعِثْت قاسمًا أقسم بينكُمْ".  

"تسَمَّوا بِاسْمِى، وَلا تكْنَوُ بكُنيتي؛ فإِنَّمَا أَنَا قاسِم؛ اقْسِمُ بَينكُمْ".  

"تَسَمَّوْا باسْمِى، وَلَا تَكَنوْا بكُنيَتِى؛ أنَا أبُو القَاسِم".  

"سَمُّوا باسْمِى وَلَا تُكَنُّوا بكُنْيَتِى؛ فَإنَّى إِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ قَاسِمًا أَقْسِمُ بَيْنَكُمْ".
