"The sun rises and with it the horn of the Shaitan, then when it is fully risen, he goes away. Then when it approaches the meridian he comes near to it, and when it has passed the zenith he goes away. Then when it is close to setting, he comes near to it, then when it has set, he goes away." And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade praying at those times.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ الشَّمْسُ تَطْلُعُ وَمَعَهَا قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا اسْتَوَتْ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا وَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَاتِ  

“The sun rises between the two horns of Satan” or he said “The two horns of Satan rise with it, and when it has risen, Satan parts from it. When it is in the middle of the sky he accompanies it, then when it has crossed the zenith he parts from it. When it is about to set, he accompanies it, and when it has set he parts from it. So do no pray at these three times.”  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَىِ الشَّيْطَانِ أَوْ قَالَ يَطْلُعُ مَعَهَا قَرْنَا الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا كَانَتْ فِي وَسَطِ السَّمَاءِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا دَلَكَتْ أَوْ قَالَ زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَلاَ تُصَلُّوا هَذِهِ السَّاعَاتِ الثَّلاَثَ  

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar from Abdullah as-Sunabihi that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun rises and with it is a horn of Shaytan and when the sun gets higher the horn leaves it. Then when the sun reaches the meridian the horn joins it and when the sun declines the horn leaves it, and when the sun has nearly set it joins it again." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade prayer at these times.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ وَمَعَهَا قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا ثُمَّ إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا وَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَاتِ  

“The sun rises between the two horns of Satan” or he said “The two horns of Satan rise with it, and when it has risen, Satan parts from it. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا كَانَتْ فِي وَسَطِ السَّمَاءِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا دَلَكَتْ أَوْ قَالَ زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا غَرُبَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَلَا تُصَلُّوا هَذِهِ الثَّلَاثَ سَاعَاتٍ  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Indeed, the sun rises between the two horns of Satan. When its one horn rises, Satan departs from it, and when it reaches its zenith, he is with it, and when it sets, he departs with it. So, do not pray during these three times."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ بِقَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا وَيُقَارِنُهَا حِينَ تَسْتَوِي فَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَصَلُّوا غَيْرَ هَذِهِ السَّاعَاتِ الثَّلَاثِ  

"The sun rises and with it the horn of the Shaitan, then when it is fully risen, he goes away. أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الشَّمْسُ تَطْلُعُ وَمَعَهَا قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا اسْتَوَتْ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا فَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا وَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَاتِ»  

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ مَعَ قَرْنِ شيطَانٍ، فَإذا طَلَعَتْ قَارَنَها فَإِذا ارْتَفعتْ فَارَقَها، ثُمَّ إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ قَارَنِها، فَإذا زَالتَ فَارَقَها، وَإِذَا نَزَلَت لِلْغُروبِ قَارَنَها، وَإِذا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَها، فَلا تُصَلُّوا هَذه الأَوْقَاتَ الثَّلاثَ".
